Did you try the Instrument light dimmer adjustment, it maybe turned on.

Mine did the same thing. I removed the fuse, but this disables the seat control on the drivers side.
The fuse box is under the drivers side dash. The fuse is (i believe) 6e or 6f.

Find the interior fuse box on an Australian 1998 Hyundai Sonata? There should be a panel with a clip out door near/under the steering column put mine does not have one, it is solid plastic panels both

No promises but this is the only reference I could find for Hyundai where the fuse box was not behind a panel to the bottom side of steering wheel. It may inspire you to look elsewhere behind items. Good Luck.

"The interior fuse panel is located behind the coin holder pull out drawer, which is on the lower left side of the dashboard"

2006 Pontiac G6 interior lights do not work.

Because you have a 10amp fuse out. Look in your book for the fuse diagram. It will show you where the fuse is located for the interior and door lights. The fuses are located in your glove box (right hand side).
