All this means is that the Tranmission Control Module has requested the Powertrain Control Module to turn the check engine light on due to a transmission fault code being stored in the TCM (transmission control module), you will need the TCM tested by the dealer or Aamco, Aamco tranmission repair does it free.

Dtc 0700 jerks when shifting from reverse to drive

The transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transaxle controls.

What is the code p 0700

No one can or should be telling you to replace
anything on any vehicle

Only knowledgeable people with proper reference material,
should even work on a car

Have it properly diagnosed

Ask around before you go to just any shop,
assuming you don't have one you used for
decades

That is a transmission code-- so stop using it

Any time you get any trans issues, all you need is a few
miles & you can ruin the trans in a heart beat

Have a Chrysler Concorde, 2001. I can drive it a little ways and as i begin to slow down most the time I hear a big boom like noise (like a huge balloon, but deeper in sound) and then it stays in 2nd gear...

You need to have the TCM scanned for codes. Autozone can only give you the ECM codes. You have code 0700 listed. That means there are codes in the TCM. When the TCM has a code in it, it goes into limp mode and locks the Transmission in 2nd. You might have a bad speed sensor.

0700 code gets stuck in 2nd gear

Hi, the 0700 code is not explanatory, Code P0700 simply means that there is a code stored in the transmission control unit which sounds like you are in a limp mode. The first thing we need to do is get these codes. They will have to be read with a code reader or scan tool. Almost all parts stores will read codes for free. If you could have the codes read and come back and post them here I'll be able to tell you what to do to fix it.

Whats the code p0700 on a 04 dodge intrepid

Hi

P 0700 is basically a "generic" code signifying that the Transmission Control Module has detected a fault somewhere within the transmission's electrical system (typically a shift solenoid malfunction). If you see P 0700, take your car to some place that can plug a scan tool into it and retrieve the other codes which are causing your car to display the P 0700 code.

I want to know what trouble code P0700 means in a chrysler town and country 1998, and how do I reset the check engine light?

0700 is a "transmission control system malfunction". The entire 0700 series of codes deals with transmission trouble codes in more detail so the 0700 won't tell you much unless one or more of the other codes also were set.

TCM codes

I'm having the same problems actually. Mine started with the transmission line popping off and spilling all of my fluid on the highway. Fun times and long story heh...anyhow, I believe that there is a special code reader for the p-0700 issues.

Does your car make a high pitched "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" sound when you turn your key on, without the engine started?
