After messing with amp wires. Now when I turn my ignition key to start. I have no power. Only lights work no stop no interior lights etc.


Id be checking under bonnet/hood fuses u dont say how u were messing with amp? Have u shorted something out? Check fuses first

Replacing water pump


I just recently did this on my wife's car. I youtube'd it and they gave me a bunch of crap about draining the radiator first, I could seem to find the plug they kept referring to so I just went ahead and straight took the water pump off. It made a mess but saved a lot of time, and I didn't mind the mess to begin with.

If your engine is mounted the same you'll actually have to put a jack under the engine and lift up on it in order to get the serpentine belt on it. (If you have to replace the belt like we did, if not disregard this.)

Replacing the water pump was pretty straight forward easy take off put on job with a mess of coolant.

I need to replace timing chain on 89 cadillac seville


Need to look at the distributor first and make sure its tightened down and cannot be easily rotated. May have gotten out of time enough to mess up the gear on the bottom of the distributor too...

You didn't include the mileage so I'm assuming its fairly high..

Could be the cap too they short internally and mess up good

How do i change the fuel filter on a dodge 3500 diesel dually


Hello aboadwine -- You didn't say what year model, but for the 6.7 cummins they didn't change very much.

Here is a link with instructions, even has pretty pictures for you.
You will need a good filter wrench, ratchet, & extension...cause they do get tight.

Odometer went black.how do i go about getting it out to check ID number


What ID number? Are you trying to find a replacement? There are only 2 kinds used in a 2006 Freestar - with a message center (6F2Z-10849-BB) and without the message center (6F2Z-10849-BB)

NOTE: If the instrument cluster is replaced, the new one must be programmed to work with your engine computer or the engine will not run - it will go into theft-protect mode.

Getting it out is very easy:
1. Disable the Supplemental Restraint System
2. Tilt the steering column to the lowest position
3. Remove the steering column cover
4. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel
5. Remove the screw and disconnect the cable for the shift indicator
6. Remove instrument cluster screws
7. Disconnect the instrument cluster wiring connector
8. Remove instrument cluster
9. Reverse procedure to install

How do I get the "change oil" message off my 2008 f 450 superduty?


Message center cluster
#1 press and release setup button until mess. cntr. displays"press reset to begin system check"
#2press and release reset button until cntr. displays"hold reset if new oil"
#3press and hold reset button for 2 sec. and release oil life should read 100%
#4 center displays"setup menu hold reset"

base cluster
#1 press and release trip/reset button until mess. cntr. displays"setup menu hold reset"
#2press and hold trip/reset button 2 sec. until mess cntr. displays"reset for system check"
#3 press and hold trip/reset button 2sec. until mess. cntr. displays"oil life XX% reset if new"
#4 press and release trip/reset button until mess.cntr.displays"hold reset if new oil"
#5 press and hold trip/reset button for 2 sec.and release to reset to 100%
#6 mess. cntr. breifly displays oil change set to 100%.

Changed cpu now motor will not start


did you buy a new computer - from dealer?
if you did not, and got a used or aftermarket?

First off, your old computer messed up alot of engine compenets
and now you have broken stuff in your car that you arent aware of

second. by replacing it, your trying to make the car run at factory setting, when the car has broken componets.

i do not reccommend replacing any car computers. Sorry to say, but id scrap the car.
