Has misfire codes and idles and runs bad


replace spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, and add some injector cleaner to the gas. Any change? if not it could be something to do with your ignition system, or fuel injectors, or maybe even engine timing.

1993 ford ranger.4.0 what will cause the fuel to bleed back when switch is off?after about 10 min. i have to give it a shot of gas in throttle body to start it.just replaced fuel pump,filter & pressure...


do you have injector pulse durng initial cranking? you may have a bad cam shaft position sensor that "comes to life" when rpms are up. or an injector has a bad spray nozzle allowing fuel to flow into its cylinder,pulling the spark plugs and checking for any that may be "wet" or smell ''rich'' will help pin-point your problem.

Hyundai Accent 1.5i is getting to much fuel killing the plug,why?


If you are sure it is getting too much fuel, check the vacuum operated fuel pressure regulator. Pull off the vacuum line to it and run the engine. Give it about a minute or two, and keep checking the vacuum line fitting on the regulator valve for any evidence of gas. If the regulator has failed, gas will start coming out. The vacuum line would just pull in that gas into the intake and cause a rich running condition.

Another possibility is an injector that is stuck or is sticking open.
You should probably have the fuel pressure tested for any gas problems, rich or lean. If you have throttle body injection (as opposed to multi port injection), you can observe the fuel spray out the bottom of the one or two injectors that are used on TBI systems. Remove the air breather, and whether the engine is just cranking over or is running at idle, look at the spray pattern the injector is making. It should be a cone pattern in a fine mist, kind of sprinkling on the throttle plates below them. If there is any dripping from the injectors, that is a problem, a clog or something. They should spray out in a mist-like cone pattern. The best chance for atomization of the fuel/air mixture.

2000 Chevy S-10 Pickup smoking (GRAY) you can smell gas , its like it lost power and aint getting full gas pressure.


I had to give it gas sometimes for it to start ? Stepping on the gas pedal does not give it gas till it starts . Pushing on the accelerator pedal while cranking gives it more air , not fuel , untill it starts an is running . It has electronic fuel injection . Your vehicle is flooding out . running rich .

DTC P0200 Injector Control Circuit

Circuit Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) has four fuel injector driver circuits, each of which controls a fuel injector. The PCM monitors the current in each driver circuit and is able to control the driver circuit. The current through each driver can rise to a peak of 2 amps to quickly open the fuel injectors and can reduce to 1/2 amp to hold the fuel injectors open. This is called peak and hold. If the current cannot reach a 2 amp peak, a DTC is set. This DTC is also set if an fuel injector driver is shorted to voltage.

An injector driver circuit that is open or shorted to voltage will cause a DTC P0200 to set and will also cause a misfire due to an inoperative injector. The misfire DTC should also be set indicating a misfire.
Long Term and Short Term FT that are excessively high or low are a good indication that an injector is malfunctioning. Refer to Sequential Multiport Fuel Injector Balance Test to test for malfunctioning injectors.

I have gas in my oil what can i do to stop this????


Hi, depending on the car, there are usually only a couple ways to get gas in the oil. For fuel injected cars, gas can pass thru a torn fuel pressure regulator diphragm or leaky/clogged injector. Pull the vacuum line off the regulator and run the engine to see if gas comes out the vacuum port. If not, try some injector cleaner. If the problem persists, pull up your fuel rail/injectors and turn on the fuel pump to see where the fuel is coming out.
If you have an old vehicle with a manual fuel pump, the problem may be a torn pump diaphragm.

Gas is leaking from my fuel rail (phlegm) on my number 5 fuel injector on my 1994 camaro


  • Park the Camaro on a flat, level surface and set the parking brake. Open the hood and secure it in place with the hood prop. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Open the gas tank to relieve pressure on the fuel lines.
  • Remove the sight shield from the fuel injector with a socket wrench. Loosen the screws on the hose clamps and disconnect the fuel lines connected to the injectors. Keep a rag handy to catch any fuel that leaks.
  • Disconnect the vacuum hose and ignition coil wire, then unplug the electrical connectors. Remove the fuel injector mounting bolts, undo the retaining clips and remove the fuel injectors.
  • Put a thin coat of engine oil on the new fuel injector's O-ring. Place the O-ring in position, install the new fuel injectors and secure the retaining clips. Install the mounting bolts with a torque wrench set at seven pounds.
  • Plug the electrical connectors back into the fuel injectors. Reconnect the vacuum hose and ignition coil wire. Connect the fuel lines and tighten the hose clamps with a screwdriver to secure them in place. Bolt the sight shield in place with a socket wrench.
  • Place the gas cap back on. Reconnect the negative battery cable

    Car starts until i let key off from crank position,ldles briefly, then dies like it runs out of fuel.bled off fuel line and there is plenty of fuel and pressure,


    It idles briefly since it gets gas from your cold start valve. This means your cold start valve is good.
    It dies since after that cold start valve will close as it designed that way so fuel from injectors will take over. But apparently fuel is not coming from injectors. And injectors is controlled by injector module. Injectors are normally closed until injector module tells them to open.
    Check out your fuel injectors and Injector Module.
    You can buy NOID from any auto part store to test your injectors. If there is no light on then there is a problem with Injector Module. If there is light on the injectors then bad injectors.
