Try some Liquid metal inside the wiper arm let it set well before use. You can pick it up at Autozone or your local auto store.

DRIVERS SIDE WIPER ARM STUCK. PASSENGER SIDE OK. GUESSING WIPER MOTOR OK; PERHAPS ITS JUST A WIPER ARM NUT?

It sounds like it's stripped out. Find out if the driver side wiper is connected to the motor. If so, the motor may need replaced as the grooved stub it's connected to is stripped. Take the wiper off, and examine the stub. It if looks almost smooth, or the grooves are not "normal" - then it will need replaced. I suggest hitting up a wrecking yard as it will be cheaper, and it will be as good as buying a new one. It's not often this happens, but it does happen, and the odds of getting another one that is faulty is little to nothin. So you'll be back on the road and driving pretty quick.

My driver side windshield wiper gear is stripped out allowing the wiper to go were it wishes. It either travels to far and ends up getting stuck on the driver door or it goes to far down and ends up...

Knowing the make and model of your vehicle would help immensely. From your description and my experience, I would say it's not a gear, but the wiper arm itself. Where the arm mounts to the wiper transmission (aka motor), there will be a plastic or sometimes metal cover, gently pull or pry upward on the edge of it to expose the nut that keeps it in place. Remove this nut and then the arm, and inspect the 'teeth' or splines inside the hole on the arm, and on the wiper transmission, where the arm mounts. Most often the arms are made of aluminum, and the transmission is of steel, so the arm will strip first. Usually the arm can be replaced (try a junkyard for a low cost replacement) without much effort, and a few basic hand tools. Also be sure to clean any residual material from the wiper transmission where the arm mounts prior to installation, a piece of steel wool or brillo pad usually works best. I hope this helps, and good luck.

My passenger side wiper linkage (on a 1999 Caravan SE) stripped during a heavy snow last year. I bought a package of bushings, hoping to repair the problem, but now that I removed the wiper assy, it...

if the little serrated or fluted stem/axle is turning back and forth with the driver side, then yes your problem is that the arm itself is stripped out. that is a good thing as opposed to replacing the whole wiper linkage/transmission. look in the phone book for auto salvage yards and call around until you find one with a vehicle close to yours. bear in mind that most chrysler product vans will have the same wiper arms. when someone says "yeah we got one" take your wiper arm go out there and inspect theirs to make sure it is the same and that the hole is not stripped out already. part should not be more than 10 bucks on a car that old.

Passenger windshield wiper does not work, driver side does work. wiper blade frame or wiper motor?

Most likely it is the linkage between the driver and passenger blade arms. The easiest way to find out is to remove the cowling and look...you should see the wiper motor, the motor arm that links to the driver arm and the linkage between the driver arm and passenger arm...this is held together by a plastic clip and that clip is most likely going to be broken when you look...it's fairly easy to replace.

Driver side wiper does not move; passenger side wiper crosses over it

In view of the answer from jchaffcom I feel that if there is a Hex on the end of the Wiper Arm the Hex Nut needs Tightened. I have a 2004 Silverado and this is what happened to it. Simply tightening the Nut solved my problem. Try it and get back to me with the results whether good or bad.

Wiper problem

one mote. Look under the wiper arm cap at the end and see i f there is a nut. tighten it a bit if it is there. if no nut or bolt stud then the inside part of the wiper arm has stripped out.

My 2001 Buick Regal driver side wind shield wiper arm is stripped, it wipes at random. Please help

i don't know what you mean by stripped, but iam gessing you mean it won't stay on the windshild when it wipes. have you tride another blade? if not i would try that first. if that dosent work you may have to try another wiper arm. all wipers will do what yours is doing when conditions are just right. you can minamise this problem maybe with a double wiper blade. hope this will help.
