You remove the door panel,to get to everything.
You may have to replace the window regulator or cable.
You don't just put it back on track,it broke.
Were long sleeves and thin gloves,to avoid cuts, while working inside the door panel

02 ford explorer 6cyl 4 0 how hard is it to replace the broken glass on the drivers door?

It takes a medium level of skill and the right tools.
You have to take the door panel off and the tracks loose, remove the window regulator then put it all back together.

I have a 2007 dodge nitro and my right rear window came off track and im tryin yo figure out how u put it back on track can anyone help

you need to first remove the door upholstery..

look in the door now and you will notice a metal latch that the holds the glass in place. Loosen it, (dont remove the glass from it only loosen it.)

hold the glass and guide it down as you lower the window. slide it back into place.

send it back up holding the glass in place, Not all the way up just enough to reach the bolts. Tighten it up. and mount your door back up.

Right power window off track. not working

hey,, ok this will require a bit of work,, now I'll talk you through the fix,, Its rather easy but a bit tedious..

1.) remove door upholestry (there are crews hidden in the arm rest, lever and tray)

2.) send glass up as far as it will go..(iif it cant move well just continue)

3.) look inside to the back of the door,, you will notice a metal railing (tack) that the glass is supposed to fit in. You will notice 3 screws holing the glass in the regulator arm.. Remove them and lift and slide the glass in place,, Re assemble..

Its that simple but remember to take your time..

How to put driver window back up

Hello. The driver's side power window motor assembly is usually the first one to go due to the amount of use it gets. Eventually you will have to replace the power window motor and track assembly for that window. But for now you can actually grab ahold of the glass with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the window up. Once you get it up a couple of inches you can probably pull it up most of the way by yourself. To get it all the way up you need to recruit the help of a second person. then with one person on each side of the glass you should be able to push it all the way up. This will at least secure the car until the power window motor and track assembly can be replaced. Regards, Joe

Drivers side door will not go up or down; window is off track and door will not open

Hello. You have two choices here on how to proceed. Often when this occurs, it is a sign that the window motor and the track inside that door are on their "last legs" This assembly is called the power window regulator and it can be found on the net for about $75.00 So, you may either put the window back in the track and hope for the best or you may choose to replace the power window motor and the track, which comes as one unit called a driver's side door power window assembly. Either way, you have to remove the inner door panel to expose the track and the motor and the glass.

Power windows, motor tries to run but nothing happens

we just had the same problem with a newer Taurus so we took off the door panel and found the window was out of its track - temporarily we filled the track with "THE RIGHT STUFF" gasket maker made by Permatex (sold at all auto parts stores) and pushed the glass back into the track - I use this gasket maker on truck axles and have a very hard time trying to separating them several month later

DRIVER SIDE WINDOW OFF TRACK

you must pull door panel off (you can find the tool at any parts deals) then lift the window up with hands only it is hard but can be done get some one to hold the window glass up and check to see if any parts have fall if so put back on or replace. if not missing clean track and crank up to glass and line up. wind up and down to make sure it stay and then re-place door panel. hope this works it did for me on my 95 contour
