What is the recomended plug for 3S D4 engine?

Hi there:
I'm guess that you are talkin gabout one Toyota D4 engine, right?

There are after market standard sparkplugs available for most cars, I strongly advise to get an iridium sparkplugs.

Check this Toyota Part No. - 90919-01221 and confirm with your dealer, or Denso - SK20BGR11, or NGK - HB6AIX-11P.

Hope this helps.

Can some one please tell me if there is a certain spark plug that needs to be put in my 2000 beetle 2.0 motor or will any work.

You need to use an NGK 7092 Spark plug or equivalent. Note this is a NAPA part number & may not work everywhere.
So to answer your question, No you can't use just any plug.

What type of plug use?

For maximum performance, at a premium price, you can use NGK Iridium # 4469 (LFR5AIX-11).

For longest life, with a bit less performance, at a premium price, you can use NGK Iridium # 6240 (PLFR5A-11).

The best value in plugs for this motor is Autolite Iridium # XP5325. It costs about 30% less than the NGK equivalent, and runs just as good.

These plugs come pre-gapped at .044" (1.1mm) which is the right gap for this motor.

.044 plug gap.
Use NGK iridium plugs as you do not have to gap them and they last 100K miles.
Most regular NGK come pre-gapped, It never hurts to check though
