I checked on two engines and I'm prettysure the numbers are located on a sticker on the driverside valve cover.

I looked top to bottom on an assembled engine and a scrap block the only place I found any code numbers were on these stickers located on the valve covers

I have a 99 ford E350 15 pass van with the V10 gas engine with 120,000 miles and auto trans. The engine was missing at speeds above 45 MPH. I took it to a repair shop for a tune up. They changed the spark plugs and charged me $520.00. Well now it misses at idle to 55 MPH. They made it worst! I'll eat my losses and will not deal with the repair shop as they are giving me the run around. Can anyone help me before i get ripped off again. My last resort is the Ford dealer but they are the biggest rip off in the world.
Need help,
Harold

Sounds like your problem could be a bad coil. Each of the sparkplugs has its own coil, if one or more isn't firing then this could very well be where the misses are occurring.

How do u reset timing of distributor after replaceing it. on a ford e350 94'

You will need a timing light....Start the engine and allow it to warm to normal operating temperature....disconnect the vacuum adavance--then slowly rotate the distrubtor while using the timing light to set it.
The timing mark for top dead center will be on the harmonic balancer, the pointer will be attached to timing chain cover, Set the timing as follows per engine size.
5.0L- BTDC 10° ± 2°
5.8L- BTDC 10° ± 2°
7.5L- BTDC 10° ± 2°

Turn off the engine and tighten the distributor bolt. Recheck the timing to verify that the timing did not move while tightening the distributor. Replace the shorting bar or vacuum line.

I hope this helps,

Head torque settings

Hey graham, there are 4 engine possibilities in the 94 E350, I'm going to guess it's the 5.8, as that is the most common option, if it's the 7.5 gas, or 4.9, let me know, as torque is different.
105 - 112 ft lbs. tightening sequence as follows"

front of vehicle 9 5 1 3 7
10 6 2 4 8
