Need to change plug wires and plugs. Old wires will absorb moisture. If that does not work change the coil too and make sure the boot is on over the coil inlet..

My car wont start when it rains

well, rain and snow is water, so it could be water is getting into something preventing the car from starting. maybe you have loose wires under your wiper grill at the bottom of your windscreen and the rain is shorting the electrics out, or even your doors could be letting rain inside shorting the electrics as your speakers terminals are not really protected with anything just a plastic clip. and of course electric mirrors if you have them?
common sence says to me you have a leak somewhere by you saying when it rains or snows. check all the roof, sun roof, door paneling, under the bonnet, boot door, all the elctrics you can get access to, and look for wet patches or puddles, if you see any near any buttons, wires etc you can be sure your electrics are shorting out. dont know if it helps but hope its somewhat helpful to you

When is raining and i drive it on to the water it stops and dont start. even if starts it the engine doesnt run properly..the next day ..no rain ..the engine work perfectly..

Change your distributor cap, rotor, and spark plug wires. This should be enough to prevent stalling in the rain.

When these components wear out, the problem is first noted when driving in the rain. If they are not changed, eventually the car will not start, even in good weather.

Will not start after raining.Takes two to three days of no rain to start again. Then van will run again till it rains again.

you don`t say but it sounds like the moisture from the rain is sitting on the plug wires causing them to short the voltage to ground and possibly moisture in the distributor cap.how long has it been since a tune-up was done to the van.

No problem when fine, but when it starts to rain it is a nightmare. I can start the car when it rains but after I've drove the car, if its only down the road, it seems to get wet and won't start. It needs...

Rain going to inside...could be radiators, thermostat,.... air filter,.... spark plugs,...or alternator. Look like need replace. The motor doesn't like water. When you drove on downhill?

Or... its cold start? could be throttle or carby need lubricant spray. Spark plugs need new aswell or clean. For start up to quick.

Starting my car when it rains...doesn't happen, why?

i did have problems with my car not starting in the rain. after changing the distributor cap and HT leads it still. My last thing to try before taking it in was to change the ignition coil. I ordered a new and installed it and it started right up! it has rain a couple times since then and it's still starting! so i'm hoping it keeps working. hope this helps anyone.
