Probably a faulty starter. The next time you try to start it hot don't try to continuously crank the engine smoothly. As you turn the ignition do a few quick taps of the ignition and the solenoid may respond to that. Replace it with a rebuilt starter and have the new rebuilt starter tested when you buy it before you install it. they are rarely defective but be safe, not sorry.

Temperature sensor is stuck on hot. It leans the fuel mix too much to start when hot. Sometimes this is called the "cold start sequence" that the engine needs to reset into for a rich fuel mix for starting.

98 silverado 5.7 hard starting when warmed up starts fine cold what could cause this?

check for a bad fuel pump relay. One of the first signs of a failing DME/Fuel Pump is difficult hot starting. Quite often when the DME/Fuel Pump relay starts failing the car will start without problems when it is cold. However, when the car has been operated at normal operating temperature for a while, it will refuse to start. Its worth a try! (usually 30 minutes to 1 hour), the car will again start without problem. Is this the case! Good-Day!

sounds like you have a coolant leak, if coolant is low it will cause both of your symtoms as to where it is coming from, there are many places but common ones are hoses/clamps, water pump or radiator.

96 silverado won't start - blows fuses when try to start - what is up with that? Starter is fine. Took it off and tested it. What do we check next?

look under the hood passenger's side and look at the exhaust manifold.. the crank position wire may be shorting out and causing the ecm1 fuse to blow?

One side air blows cold one side blows hot

GM has a known problem with the electric actuators that operate the blend and temperature doors in the HVAC system. There are 4 or 5 of these in the typical system. Any can start sticking or binding and cause this problem. Sometimes they can be cleaned, or they might need to be replaced. Sometimes resetting the HVAC system controller by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, then reconnecting it, will correct the problem.
