Question about 2001 Dodge Intrepid
When I drive my Intrepid for about 20 minutes and stop, every now and then I will smell a funny odor coming from the engine. When I first bought the car, (a few months ago) I heard a strange liquid bubbling noise from under the hood. Afterwards, I checked all the fluids and filled everything that needed filled. Today I noticed a little bit of smoke roll out of the front of my car, it was very minimal, but I think something is up. It was not too cold outside, maybe 50 F. So how messed up is my car right now? What can I do to fix this problem?
You either have a thermostat or water pump problem. car is getting hot. Check to make sure you have no water leaks on the hoses or radiator. to check the thermostat, run the engine for awhile to get it hot and touch the upper radiator hose to see if it is hot . If so then the thermostat is working and the problem would be the water pump. hope this will help you.
