Possibly bad connection at instrument cluster connectors or faulty cluster.

I have a 96 loncoln town car and when I step on the barke peddle it makes a wierd noice and then it turns my abs light on. It doesn't do it all the time. It sounds like a grrrrrrrrrrr noice when I step on...

Hello. That sound is just your antilock brakes being applied. You should also feel the brakes pulsing a wee bit. The fact that the abs light is on is usually due to an ABS sensor going bad, a common issue with these cars as they age; but, not to worry as even if the ABS system didnt work at all you would still have brakes, you would just have to pump the brakes with your foot on slippery roads. Same here! ABS & oil lights come on, tachometer stops & no AC

try having your battery and alternator tested,it could be a volt drop.also check the main earth points to the body.good luck.

No oil pressure light on

the oil pump is located inside the oil pan..its a real big job to replace..from all of the codes that are showing up on the dash i would say it was the computer going crazy..and the oil pump is probably okay u may have to just buy a new computer

Oil pressure light on at idle

Don't delay on this. Take the vehicle in and have the oil pressure sensor checked. It could be just the sensor or it could be something more serious. A drop in oil pressure could lead to catastrophic engine failure.

Oil and brake light flashing

Is the ABS light on as well? If you have ABS and the light is on (like in Guest's comment) is it probably the ABS Control Module. You should have someone read the code to see if you get ABS as one of the issues. Rather than spending a fortune with the dealer or having a non dealer replacement, check out You take the the unit off (easy and OK to drive without it, you'll just have no
ABS - which you probably don't have now!), mail it out to them, they rebuild it for $200, send it back and you install it, problem solved. They have step by step photo instructions on their site. A mechanic I use for diagnosis and difficult repairs initially wanted to replace the instrument cluster and then talked about replacing it with a new unit. I went online, read about the issue and fixed it myself. I let him know about it and now he has done it three times the same way with great results.

Not sure

Do you get a flashing ABS light or BRAKE light along with the beeps? If so, this is indicative of an ABS failure, which is either a wheel speed sensor or (much more likely) the ABS controller. I've had an ABS/wheel speed sensor fail on my A4 and I had no beeping, but people I know have had the beeps and had to replace or rebuild the ABS module. If you do have this problem, go to and call them - they can rebuild the ABS module for a couple hundred dollars give or take, versus several times that cost for a new one.

If you are only getting the beeping, but not the lights flashing, it could still indicate this failure, but Audi usually has the cars set up to indicate what is wrong by flashing lights as well as the beeping, to help you see what the problem is.
