The Throttle Position Sensor runs about $200.00 plus probably a hour of labor at a shp. It is rather important because it tell the computer where the throttle is, the computer uses this information and information from other sensors to determine the proper fuel injection on time.

P2251how do I fix a oxygen spencer

You will likely need to replace the oxygen sensor. There are two different sensors so knowing which one you need when you go to the auto parts store is important. I think I had the same fault as yours and the new sensor cost around $100. Auto parts store also loaned me the wrench (deposit required) to remove and replace. Once new sensor is in you will need to drive at highway speeds for ~10-20 minutes for everything to reset correctly.

What might it cost to replace an O2 sensor on a 1998 S70 Volvo GLT, approximate range (in the San Francisco area)? Thanks!

This should only take about a hour to change plus the sensor cost I think this car has 2 o2 sensors but i would recommend that you a OE type sensor (bosch) they are not cheaply made But here in DIXON I would do this for $198.00 for sensor and $60.00 labor total $275.00
If sensor is stubborn and removal hard I suggest to spray sensor with a penetrating oil for couple times this will soak into the threads to be removed easier

The sensor is magnetic. It can collect fine metal particles, causing it to malfunction. Cleaning it in this case fixes it, but it is important to clean the entire area to prevent reoccurence.

I have a 2003 honda element - the rear o2 sensor is bad. is it worth the $255.00 repair or is this something i can do myself for much less?

you can replace it your self.the rear 02 sensor is the sensor behind the catalytic converter and you might be able to get one at an auto parts store which may be cheaper than the factory one.if you know what the factory one costs then you will will need the proper size wrench to replace or aware that after market parts sometimes don`t function properly on import cars because they are not built to the tight standards the factory builds their products.after market use a wider operating range and this is the problem when they cause problems.

O2 sensors and knock sensor are they important? just came from autozone where thry did that code reader thing and it came up o2 and knock sensors, am i screwed or is this a small problem

depends on where you live. If you live in a state/county that does emission testing on your car each year then you should probably fix it before your next test. Otherwise you risk being caught with an out of date inspection sticker. The ticket itself is pretty expensive. If you don't have to get your car inspected then you don't have to worry about that aspect but then your car may not get very good gas mileage as the engine computer is without the oxygen sensor input and the engine knock sensor. This means the computer will operate in a degraded mode and will probably default to a rich running condition (O2 sensor) as well as not advancing the engine timing as much (knock sensor). Both of these conditions are less than ideal and will cost you power and fuel economy. will pay for these problems, either up front in parts costs or in the long term in increased fuel costs.

Likely about 160 to replace. It isn't that important. Bank 1 sensor 2 just tells the computer if the catalytic converter is working. Bank 1 sensor 2 wouldn't cause your stalling problem.

2003 VW Golf - O2 Sensor?

Honestly it is not very expensive to replace, but it is not extremely important. What it does is measure the oxygen/fuel level coming out of the engine. This tells the computer that the engine is either using the right air/fuel mixture or allows the computer to change the mixture slightly to allow the car to run properly. You could pull the sensor out and clean the terminal as it usually has alot of carbon build up due to its location, but this is normally a temporary fix. I hope this helps you with your problem.

Cooling teperature sensor failure

What country did the car came from? Email the VIN number to a dealer in the original selling country with your problem, ask for the correct part number, see if that corresponds to your new part. The VIN is important; that'll tell them not only where but when it was made. Good Luck.
