2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee loud grinding sound when braking

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee loud grinding sound from the front of the car when the brakes are applied especially at low speeds when slowing to a stop. Also, from time to time (growing more frequently) the driver side door control panel does not work: can't lock doors, roll down windows, etc...Sometimes when I open the door it will work.

It would be hard to guess at you electrical problems but get your brakes checked. It sounds like your pads have worn down to metal on metal.Very dangerous and can get expensive to fix the longer you leave it.A visual inspection can tell within minutes if this is the problem. If this isn't the problem the 2nd most common thing is a loose brake caliper or caliper mount.A friend with some mechanical knowledge will be able to check the brake pad thickness very easily and quickly with just a torch.Hope this helps

1998 jeep grand Cherokee 4x4 right front tire keeps locking up and makeing a grinding sound

Take the brakes apart & look for the problem

Brakes have to come apart once a year anyway,
to remove rust, inspect & lube & you flush the brake
fluid every 2 years,on all vehicles

Maybe the rubber flex hose is restricted or the calipers
& fluid are neglected & everything is just rusted & nothing
works

2004 jeep grand charokee grinding noise when

ok, think about mass that moves under the forces of braking, things like engines and gearboxes, have you checked all those mounts for integrity, have a look to see if anything has been rubbing, new shiney spots appearing that weren't there before.

Deep grinding noise coming from front driverside wheel

could be a rock stuck between the brake rotor and calipers or dust sheild...on the other hand could be badly worn brake pads wearing metal in metal.....maybe even worn wheel bearings. when was your last brake inspection(worn brakes)? have you been driving on gravel roads(possible rock)? how long has this noise been occurring for(progressivly getting louder?-does braking effect if(worn brakes)? is it louder when cornering hard-and will it go away when turning the opposite direction (wheel bearings)??

Squealing or clicking sound and then next day grinding sound louder when you take foot off accelerator clicking sounds from right side grinding underneath 2002 grand cherokee

Squealing usually indicates that the brakes are in need of replacement. There is a small piece of metal that as the brake pads wear comes in contact with the metal rotor. When the pads get close to being worn away the tab touches the rotor and it squeals. The tab can also click.
When the pads are worn away completely the metal backing comes in contact with the rotor and it grinds. Grinding is bad. It means the car's brakes are metal to metal. This will cause damage to the rotors resulting in an even more costly brake job.
You should have it taken care of ASAP.
I hope this helps.

probably a bad sensor in one wheel. If your car go to one side when you apply brakes, the sensor of the opposite front wheel is defective or loosing. if not, rear wheel ones
