Bad Idle, stalling, and engine in worst case will not start. The ECM take readings from the crankshaft and camshaft sensor to determine the engine's ignition timing and fuel injector timing.
A total sensor failure will cause the engine not to restart if there is no output reading form the sensor to the ECM. If there is an Auto Zone in your area, they can scan your car to address the issue if your crank/cam shaft sensor has gone bad and will need to be replaced.
Thank you for using fixya and Auto Zone scan free of charge and has the step by step instructions to get the job done.

Lifters/car not starting

Do you have the 2.2 liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine, the 3.5 liter V6, or the 3.9 liter V6 engine? If you have the 2.2 liter engine, there may be a camshaft/timing chain issue if you skipped a tooth when you put the chain back on the cams. If it's a 3.5 or a 3.9 liter V6, you may have incorrectly installed the push rods back into the engine. 3.5 liter intake push rods are approx 5 3/4" long, while the exhaust push rods are approx 6" long.
The 3.9 liter intake push rods are approx 5.81" long, while the exhaust push rods are approx 6.1" long. If you mix the two lengths up when you put them back in the engine, you're going to have problems.

Crankshaft sensor is going bad how do i access it top change it

Which engine is it? 2.7 Lit V6? 2.4 I4 - 4 cylinder? or the 3.5 V6? Each one is different.

1. 2.4 I4, 4 cylinder - located at the front of the engine at the crankshaft (behind timing belt cover)
2. 2.7 Lit V6 - Near transmission on the left hand side in the engine block behind the right edge of the exhaust manifold
3. 3.5 lit V6 - located at the front of the engine at the crankshaft (behind timing belt cover)

My 95 camaro 3.4 v6 overheats what causes this problem & how to solve it?

3.4 liter, you may have a bad water pump or at worst you have a bad intake manifold gasket which is a common failure to the 3.4 liter V6 engines. Start with the simple, flush out the cooling system and replace the thermostat. Inspect any signs of possible intake gasket failure and head gasket failure and replace. After that has been inspected, move on to a possible weak water pump and will need to be replaced. Good luck and hope this helps.
