My 1999 996 C2 front passenger side cooling fan won't turn on.. can someone help? Is there a separate fuse for each of the sides? or one that controls both sides?

2003 chevy monte carlo passenger side cooling fan not working

The passenger side fan should only come on while driving at highway speeds, to offer additional cooling help to cool down car, the Driver side fan is for when parked, ideling, city traffic, and air conditioner use. At least that is what i was told.

You are correct in that the AC cooling fan is controlled by the ECM, the problem is the sensor on the "Hot" side of the motor, which should be either right ON the thermostat or very near it. Change this, it should take care of issue.

Overheating: cooling fan won't ingauge

I would first check the fan relays make sure they are good ..If no problem there then i would disconnect the wires going to the cooling fan..turn on your a/c ..that should activate the fan even if the vehicles cold ..see if you have voltage across the wires plug the meter right into the wire you should have 12 volts..if you do then its the fan..if the fan comes on during a/c but dont come when vehicle gets hot, then its probably the temperature senser that tells the fan to come on..Its located near the thermostat.

My car is overheating while idling, once im driving the temperature drops back to normal, i realized that the fans are not running at all, what connections should i check? could this be the cooling fan...

turn your a/c on which should send signal to cooling fans to operate, regardless of engine temperature. check for voltage on cooling fan wires. if voltage is not present check relays and fuses located passenger side front of vehicle under hood. if voltage is present, then i would replace the cooling fans

Where in the heck is the radiator fuses on a 2003 chevy monte carlo SS. The passenger side fan motor has quit but is showing it has power when tested with a testing light?

if you have power there then the fuses are good or relays but if you have power then you ethier have a bad fan or ground wire also that fan should only come on when the ac is on

Cooling fans 4 radiator won t come on

You have 2 engine coolant sensors one on front of engine, near thermostat housing and the other on the right side of the engine above the starter motor. You probably need to change the other one.

I am trying to locate the relay panel on my 99 vw passat 2.8 gls. My electric cooling fan was broken so I replaced it last night and tested it on the battery to verify it works- but it is not getting power...

open the drivers door .. on the end of the dash (normally covered by the door) is a panel .. pop off that panel and the fuses are there .. of course fix the problem that caused the wires to burn then locate the fuse .. not easy since they give you a really cryptic guide to the fuses .. of course you should be able to see one thats blown .. if you cant read the gliphs then call a dealer to find out which fuse is which .. the relays are also behind the fuses .. again not marked except by big numbers stamped on each but no guide .. there are two fans .. the driver side is the cooling fan ..the passenger side is the air conditioner .. that is operated by a pressure switch in front of the condenser (front of car under gril on passenger side) .. .. likely a coolant temp switch operates the cooling fan .. actually i can check that if you need more info ..

My cooling fans are not coming on.the fuse is good.where is the relay switch located for cooling fan? i think it might be bad.thanks.

The relay for your cooling fan is located Under hood, passenger side, front side of wheel well, mounted in relay panel. I would also recommend testing or inspecting the coolant temperature sensor as well. it is located Under hood, passenger side, upper engine area, above water pump, mounted in intake manifold

Please rate and have a great day:)

The fan for the cooling system is not working and is brand new

There is a sensor on the radiator that controls a relay to turn the fan on. There is also a fuse in the fuse panel under the hood. Make sure the radiator is full.
