If the fluid is red it is your front transmission seal, if it is black it is your rear main bearing seal in the engine.

Cadillac deville pouring transmission fluid

transmission lines to radiator is leaking. The radiator will help cool the transmission fluid in most vehicles, and these lines can get crimped or become loose during normal vehicle maintence. Replace the lines and connectors, and recheck transmission fluid level. MIght just be a loose connection you could possibly tighten up. Busted or cracked radiator?

TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKS,CAN BE FOUND AROUND PAN GASKET.CHECK PAN GASKET,IF IT LOOKS WET AND YOU SEE FLUID DRIPPING AROUND THE EDGE OF OIL PAN, REPLACE PAN GASKET, WHILE YOU REPLACING PAN GASKET REPLACE TRANSMISSION FILTER WHILE OIL PAN OFF.IF TRANSMISSION OIL PAN NOT LEAKING, CHECK TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES GOING INTO RADIATOR YOU WILL LOOSE A LOT OF FLUID THERE ALSO TORQUE SHAFT SEAL WILL CAUSE HEAVY FLUID LEAK WHILE ENGINE RUNNING CHECK OIL COOLER LINES AND LOOK AT THE TORQUE AREA WHILE ENGINE RUNNING YOU WILL SEE FLUID POURING WHILE ENGINE RUNNING THE OIL PUMP PRESSURE WILL PUSH FLUID OUT AT THE LEAKING AREAS.

Car won't accelerate and when it does it jerks hard. can't get over 50 mph

MAKE SURE YOUR ENGINE FINE TUNE. CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL.IF FLUID LEVEL OKAY.DO A FILTER AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE IF ONE HAS NOT BEEN DONE A LONG LONG TIME.SOUND LIKE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. IF FLUID + FLUID LEVEL OKAY AND FILTER HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE.YOUR TV SHIFT CABLE LOOSE NEED ADJUSTING. IF YOU SEE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING LOOK FOR TRANSMISSION FAULT CODES LIKE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID OPEN OR FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTER.YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY SHIFT VALVES.BEST GET CAR CODE SCAN.YOU HAVE MANY SHIFT VALVES.

Ford tarus wont engage into reverse or forward

Check transmission fluid if low replace fluid with engine running look for leaks under car I would suspect a rusted out transmission line .Replace line or have line replaced with brake line of same size.refill fluid. If fluid is full check for loose or broken transmission linkage if none of the above are found replace or have transmission rebuilt.

Transmission fluid in radiator reserve tank 2002 saturn l300 v6 changed the radiator and stioll have yellow goo in reserve tank could it be the oil cooler

It could be and inspect your transmission fluid and have it serviced if it is the transmission fluid and also your engine oil. Engine coolant is corrosive to the bearings in your transmission and engine and can cause you to loose which ever you have cross contamination with.
If it's transmission fluid, then you'll loose your transmission is not corrected and if it's engine oil. Then your going to loose the engine shortly if not corrected.
Sorry for the bad news and thank you for using fixya.

Pink fluid coming from drivers side front area near front left headlight Is it powersteering or brakes or what...?

It's the transmission fluid of the power steering fluid check the level on the transmission with it in park at idle if it's not on the stick do not drive it till you get it filled up it may be the transmission cooling lines going to the engine loose or the power steering hose loose or even the front axle output shaft seal on left side. check the transmission fluid first then check power steering fluid. If either is low do not drive it or you could destroy the pump on either one. Hope this helps. Thanks for using fix-ya.

1994 chevy caviler 3 speed auto will not shift out of first gear

Before you take your car to a transmission shop, first check the transmission fluid level (engine running, warm, in park, on level ground). Add fluid if necessary. Second, look for a loose shift linkage or some kind of loose hose connection. If these don't fix the problem, I am afraid you might be SOL.

Upon starting it takes a few seconds for the car to move once you've slected a gear.

I suggest that you check the transmission fluid level on the transmission oil stick and make sure that the fluid is red and up to the full line after the car warms up. Also you may want to get your transmission oil changed with a new filter screen by a trained professional at a dealership or transmission shop.

Is there a check fluid stic for transmission fluid? I searched my engine and could not find one. 1993 Honda Accord w/ slipping transmission.

there is alot of cars that do not have a dip stick..thus having to check fluid by loosing a bolt on the transmission pan. This also is the fill point, If it starts to seep out of the hole you know you have enough fluid! It should say exact under transmission in your owners manual
