Thanks but when I take it back to the dealers what can I expect from them since it is under warranty. I mean the noise is really irritating.

  • supa_glue29 May 13, 2010

I spoke to the dealer they are not willing to take do any repairs ans they said its common with the 4wd grand vitara. But i cant understand why i would get a loud noise (someone said it the differential). HELP!!!

  • supa_glue29 May 14, 2010

The warranty is not half way as yet. It has another 18 months to go. I am very concern that this noise is common with all these type vehicles and the safety of it.
I know the warranty is not an issue.

Hi its sounds as though a bearing is braking up inside its race, possibly on a c/v joint or universal joint, especially if front wheel drive.

The Dealer should diagnosis the noise and REPAIR IT...... AFTER ALL ITS THEIR PRODUCT.

  • JIMMY May 13, 2010

Sounds like something in the driveline. As I suggested earlier take it back to the dealer.

  • JIMMY May 14, 2010

What it really sounds like is you must be close to your warranty due date.

I guess the next best thing is to have an ASE certified Technician look over the vehicle. Certain noises are hard to diagnosis when you physically have the vehicle. In this case I don't and really don't wanna try .But I will put you in the right direction. I 'm, trying to get you to someone who knows what they are doing so we can get to the bottom of this .

Then later we will worry about who fixes it.

Loud clunking noise from yoyager when on full lock

Loud clunking noise WHERE in the Voyager when WHAT is "on full lock"? It might help to be a little more descriptive.

Knowing Chrysler minivans the way I do, I would assume that you are chasing noises in the front steering and suspension. Those are notorious for all kinds of noise in the front suspension. You need to check the stabilizer links, the stabilizer frame bushings and the upper strut bearings - these are the most common "noise-makers".

If it is making the noise when you have the wheels turned hard to one side and accelerating, then it is most likely a bad CV joint.

A loud noise when I turn on the AC and shift it to D or R.

What kind of noise? If it's like a squeal it is a lose belt. If it's more like a clunk it's the transmission shifting and you just happen to notice it more because of the higher RPM the motor is at with the AC on. Try getting the vehicle moving with out the AC on then turning it on after you are moving to see if you get the same sound. If it's a squeal you have a loose belt that needs replacement or tightening.
