Need to fix the slipping on an automatic transmission

change the trany fluid and filter. get some lucas transmission treatment and put it in before you put your trany fluid in. after all fluids are in and everything is together start the vehicle and hold foot on brake and go through the gears it might slip a lil the first 5 min of driving or until fluid works through trany.

Will a trany from 2002 work in a 1998 both are 3.8 motors town and country lx

A transmission shop can tell you more than anyone here. tel them what you are doing, and have them check over the trans before you install it and replace the filter. You dont want to install a bad trans.

1992 buick century 3.3 liter fwd. transaxle wont shift from 2nd. to 3rd. acting like it's going into neutral. When fluid and filter were changed the sponge part of filter was detierated and not found in...

you want to flush out the trani most likly is the filter ran through the trani the check balls inthe shift siloniods are clogged with filter now, but if you have low/1 and reverse the other possibility is that you lost a clutch band inthe trani, that would require a new trani.

How do i change my transmission fluid and filter

You will need to find the drain plug on the bottom of the trany, drain fluid , remove the bottom cover to access the filter you should have a repair manual. I am not sure if you can do it on that vehicle, you may have to get it exracted and replaced. Good luck

Transmission shifts in and out and speedometer goes up and down in a 1998 Chevrolet pickup with an 4L60E transmission.

Do you mean that the trani is slipping? If so you may be low on trani fluid, may have a clogged trani filter or need a rebuild or new one.
If you mean something else then let me know.
