There is a wire with a loop on the passenger side either through the front grill or from the bottom. It just depends on if it got moved around.

try resetting the ECM program as the immobilizer may have been activated by what you have done or the dead flat battery

Battery removed now cannot open hood

There is a pull out tab in the fuse box located in the driver foot well. It's a red rectangular block, pull it out to expose the metal clip. Put a battery charger or other source of + 12 volts on the clip, and the negative end on a ground (has to be a good ground, try the bolt on the door). then activate the hood release switch.

Battry Dead need to open hood,Followed Manual for external 12 volt battry to Red pin on Fuse box Does not work ,WHERE is the Manual hood release for this car???

THERE IS A PLUG THAT CAN BE PURCHASED AT SOME AUTO PARTS STORES. IT HAS A DOUBLE-ENDED CIGARETTE LIGHTER PLUG. THIS CORD CAN BE USED TO BOOST A CAR'S BATTERY. IF YOU ARE GOOD AT SPLICING, YOU CAN PROBABLY MAKE ONE UP WITH A DECENT GAUGE WIRE. HOPE THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED, THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

I have a 2001 Boxster that I can not get the front hood open.

its still the same to access the emergency release cable, then you will need to access and replace the broken cable that attatches the latch to the release motor (see my other posting)

Manually openning the trunk of a 2002 porsche boxster

It can only be done using the key fob. Othersise use button inside the car. If your battery is flat you need a donor battery wiring to a connection in the fuse box (positive) anf door lock(negative) but see your hand book.

2002 porches boxter -dead battery and trunk wont open to jump...help outside in the freezing chicago cold

You will have to go to the fuse panel and "jump" the hood open. There is a little nub that pulls out with a copper band. You will need to hook the positive side of the jumper cables to the nub and the negative to something metal. The hood will immediately open. Hope this helps someone else.

Porsche 2005 2.7 boxster flat battery?

Reach over the drivers side front tire in wheel well.  Reach around trim in upper wheel well to find a cable, running front to back, pull toward you and it should release the front hood.  Previous owner showed me this emergency release in case battery goes dead and I have recently had to use it myself on my 1998 Boxster.

Battery dead; cannot open hood

If the cigarette lighter is an unswitched power point you could use it as a location to put a very small charge, just enough to get the hood release solenoid to activate. Years ago there was a device that was a male cigarette lighter power point at both ends and enough cable to go from car to car. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT OPEN HOOD, DO NOT TURN KEY TO RUN OR ATTEMPT TO START. ANYTHING COULD RESULT. MINOR OR MAJOR. THERE IS A COMPUTER MEMORY SAVER THAT MATES A 9 VOLT TO A MALE CIGARETTE LIGHTER PLUG THIS MAY NOT BE ENOUGH TO RELEASE HOOD BUT MAYBE WITH A 12 VOLT FLASHLIGHT BATTERY (2 6 VOLT BATTERIES) WOULD WORK TO OPEN THE HOOD. (TURN EVERYTHING OFF EVEN DOME LIGHT.)
