If the idle adjustment screw has NOT been touched or adjusted, turn the distributor slightly in either a counter clock wise or clockwise rotation until the recommended idle RPM is reached. This should get you within the ball park. The only correct way to set the timing for optimum engine performance is to use a timing light.

How do I set the timming on a 1400 Nissan sentra 1998 model

This is for a 1998 nissan sentra 1.4 engine, start engine and allow to reach operating temp.then turn engine off and disconnect throtle postion sensor connector.

With tps sensor disconnected start engine and increase idle to 2000 rpm three times then release and allow it to idle.

now check timing, timing should be at 6-10 degrees BTDC. adjust as needed then turn key off and reconnect tps .

95 nissan sentra 1.6L, air fuel mixture adjustment. If adjustment screw is turned completely in how many turns out to proper setting?

1.5 turns for most carbs, but you can use a vacuum gage on the intake to get it right. Make sure engine is warm and on the regular idle screw, then turn the mixture screw in and then turn out until vacuum stops rising. OK?

After replacing the rear brakes on a 1995 Nissan Sentra I can't get the drums back on

There is an adjuster bar that goes between the shoes and attached to it is a wheel with teeth on it that is used to make the adjustment. I always adjust it all the way down and then that will always give you enough room to get the drum back on. If you need more help and info as far as pictures and stuff, just log onto Autozone.com and enter your year, make and model of vehicle and you can view online manuals for your car. Good luck.

Is nissan sentra 1999 FE compatible with E10 gasoline. It has a carbureted engine.

It was, is, and always will be my opinion, that no engine is compatible with any alcohol product without making changes to fuel delivery, timing and compression. Even if the engine appears to run OK, you will note at least a 15% drop in mpg. for those reasons. As far as damage to engine, this remains to be seen...alcohol is hygroscopic (draws moisture from the air) that in itself can cause problems with internal fuel components. If you have a choice, generally speaking, it will work, but I'd opt not to use it.
