My 2001 eclipse GT starts but won't idle when warmed up

My 2001 eclipse GT starts and runs until it gets warm and then It won't idle and just dies. My check engine light doesn't come on, when the motor dies so I don't even have a trouble code I can look up. Any suggestions for a place to start checking for these syptoms?

SOURCE: car idles high after its warmed up

you have to check on the fast idle control valve or pcv if it needs cleaning or replacement. Also check on vacuum leaks.

SOURCE: I have a 2000 Mitsubishi

I think the best thing to do is just try a lighter weight fully synthetic oil in it. What you're hearing is the valves sticking in oil that is not bleeding down fast enough while it is cold.

1995 Eclipse will run until the motor gets warm and then dies?

change the crankshaft postion sensor and the mass airflow sensor and the Idle AIr Temperature sensor to make sure im most likely sure ist the crankshaft sensor also make sure that you have a clean air filter not enought clean air could cause the car to stall also inspect your injectors make sure that they arent cracked or leaking i would put some fuel injector cleaner just to be sure

1998 mitsubishi eclipse dies when it gets warm

Try this.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

My mistubishi eclipse GT 2001 strts up just fine but after 10 min. or just after it starts to warm uf it looses its ability to idle. if uit ildles down to below 1500 rpm. it will just die. (stops running)...

The mentioned problem could refer to 2 things, O2 sensor or "clogged" injection system.
If the car changes the RPM dinamically then it would be O2 sensor, often stalls. Regarding clogged injection, preliminary try to rev to higher RPM, if that is the problem fast you will see the difference (maybe solves the problem, maybe will require cleaning.

How to adjust air fuel mixture on a 87 suzuki samuria

On any carburator, one screw is for the idle speed, the other the air/fuel mix.Start the engine and let it get plenty warmed up. Adjust the idle screw to make the engine run slow. Turn the air/fuel screw in until the engine starts to die then out till it starts running loady. You want the screw between these two locations. Adjust it till the engine runs the fastest. Now adjust the idle speed screw to about 1000 RPM.
I hope this helps you.
