Question about 1996 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

The amber lights on my car will not turn off even when the headlights and car are both off. I saw the lights were on when i left work today. I thought I must have left the parking lights on but that was'nt the case. When I turned my lights on to drive home, I noticed my right headlight was out. When I removed the light to replace it, I saw that it was cracked. I replaced the headlight and they are working fine. However I can not get the amber lights to go off. Also when i turn my hazards on only the left side flickers. I'm wondering, what could be causing this?

1990 jeep wrangler turn signals do not flash adequately when headlights are on..?

Is this an optical issusion and the indicators are merely being "flooded " by the wash of light from the headlights. Try a stronger bulb in the indicators or use amber bulbs if not already fitted.

How to replace the left front turn signal bulb?

Open the hood and take out the four bolts that hold the headlight in position. They are all on the top and include one rather long bolt that will still remain attached even after loosened. Once you have done this you can move the headlight unit to the side (or you can disconnect it and remove it altogether). Removing the headlight unit will make it possible to reach the turn signal assembly which you can then twist to remove from its seating. You can then replace the bulb and then replace the headlight unit.

Signal light change.

There is one 10mm Bolt on the top of the light and three 10mm nuts on the back of the light. You will need to use a 10mm wrench to remove the nuts because they are in a tight place.

After the 1 bold and 3 nuts are removed, the entire headlight assemble will pull straight out. You don't need to take the headlight bulb out because there should be enough wire to pull out the assembly far enough to get to the turn signal bulb. This will allow you to change the turn signal bulb which should be a 4157 amber bulb.

When putting the headlight assemble back in the van, there is a plastic pin in headlight assembly that goes into a hole in the front fender for alightment. Don't force the light. Take your time and the headlight assembly will go back in the van smoothly.

2002 Saturn SL headlights stay on

On a 2002 saturn, the headlights are not automatic, you have to turn the knob on the end of the signal light lever to turn them off.
Also, some models are equipped with "Daytime running lights"; a safety feature. these daytime running lights are just the amber colored front signal lights, which turn on automatically when the parking brake is released to make your car more visible during daylight hours. Furthermore, if any headlight refuses to shut off, there is an electrical problem, most likely a failed relay, which are located in the underhood fuse panel and can be checked quite easily with a multimeter, relay failures are veryrare, but not unheard of, especially in vehicles equipped with aftermarket fog lights. Thankfully they are cheap and readily available and are as easy to change as a fuse.

2002grand am daytime running lights

99 - 04 grand am.

I had the "service vehicle soon" light come twice with in 1 year. First the heald light bulbs were gone. Replaced the head light bulbs and after 2 starts the "service vehicle soon" light was gone.

The second time the DRL - #194 amber bulbs were gone. Replaced these and the "service vehicle soon" light was gone after 2 starts. The DRLs are housed in the headlamp housing, the tiny bulbs beside the head light.

What fuse controls the backup lights on a 1994 Jeep Cherokee?

I have a 1988 jeep wagoneer limited 4.0. The other night the cops pulled me over for having my amber lights on, along with the red running lights in the rear. I hace replaced all the bulbs with new ones. When I pull the light switch out to the first stop, I get three bulbs that come on in the rear light assembly, two in the red zone and one in the amber, it is the same with the headlights on. The hazzards and turn signal lamps all work perfectly, as well as the brake lights. At night the amber lights in the rear are very bright and this is what the police say should not be on. Does anyone have any ideas where the problem might be? Thank you very much, Thomas

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE REFERRING TO THE TROUBLE SYMBOL FOR HEADLIGHT/TAIL LIGHTS. THE PROBLEM CAN BE WITH A BULB, FUSE, ELECTRICAL CONNECTION. CHECK YOUR USER'S MANUAL UNDER HEADLIGHTS.
