A bad relay could also cause this to happen.

Running low on fuel can put a strain on fuel pumps, but this fuel today also has a bearing on it also,Have you changed brands?A different fuel pump brand might help, also,if you are running a amp for the sound system, this puts a load on the alternator, and low voltage will cause this situation also, the fuel pump is a motor, and if the voltage flows too slow threw the pump motor,it will finaly burn out, check the alternator out put,it should be reading at the battery 13.65 volts to 14.25 volts with the head lights on,and the ac blower on high setting.

Does a fuel pump have a lifespan, like is it advisable to change it at a certain kilometer even when it's not giving you any problem?

I don't think it's a part of any regular scheduled maintenance changes, but an intriguing question. I think their average lifetime could be in years as well as mileage. On average I would guess we are increasing miles driven per year. I can tell you the main thing that shortens pump life is overheating from chronically low gas tank levels. In tank pumps require being surrounded by gasoline for cooling purposes. The guy who often runs out of gas, and cranks and cranks the car over, is killing his fuel pump in short order. I would hazard a guess that normal pump life is maybe around 150,000 miles? But I am sure there will be some in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mode. I myself adhere to that pretty often, lol.

Having problems with 2002 chevy silverado 1500 won't stay running. cut out going down hiway then died will run a while then die is this the fuel pump

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter first. If it was the fuel pump, and being electric. It would have not restarted again if the pump has gone bad. The fuel filter should be replaced every 1,500 miles or once a year to ensure that your fuel system is running 100% and will not burn out your fuel pump early due to extra heat generated from working harder then is should. Good luck and keep me posted.

Do I need to take the bed off to replace the fuel pump off my 2004 silverado 1500

U can do that or drop the fuel tank out, the manual says drop the tank, while you are in there replace the fuel pump connector, it will most likely be burned.

Faulty gas gauge

Have a 2001 chev and it does the same thing. It is a common problem. It is a faulty in tank sender, not the fuel pump. You can just replace the sending unit by removing tank. If you want more information please get back to me.

ABS control module "brake fluid pump" runs constantly.

I do not know anywhere that can repair the module, and yes one from a salvage yard is a good idea.
