I got my 2004 dodge neon for my 18 birthday, and it has been a NIGHTMARE. When I first got my 2004 dodge neon, it developed this problem where when i would drive it for a over a few miles, and i would turn the car off, the car would not start again. My car would also not start on a slope (i would have to push my car onto a flat surface to start). When i turn the key, the engine does not turn, there is nothing. I have to let the car sit for at LEAST an hour to get it start again, sometimes more. But after sitting, the car starts right up! My check engine light is not on, I have a brand new battery. My dad who has worked on cars my entire life took the car to a local shop, they found a lose connection in the transmission; they cleaned it out, changed me 50 bucks, and sent me home with it. This did not fix it. Next shop we went to cleaned out the ground wiring, and the problem was fixed for a year! I am now in college, and my car is giving me the SAME starting problems, but I am not having the starting on slope problem... It happened after I got new tires put on, and I could not start my car up to drive out of the tire garage. I gave it 15 minutes, it started right up. Right now I am having to put my hood up for an hour or so, then try and start it up. I am getting stranded everywhere!NO ONE can figure out what is wrong with my car. HELP!

Have you checked fuel pressure. Sounds like a clogged fuel filter & or a bad fuel pump, that once in awhile binds up mechanically, them is okey for awhile. The time you have to wait,to start it,is just a coincidence.

I would do voltage drops on both battery cables,or just put on new ones. Don't cut off just the ends, replace with OEM Type Cables, end to end

Also, the contacts, inside your starter solenoid, may be burnt. If it won't turn over ,and just clicks, pull the starter and just replace the solenoid, not the whole starter.

Also ,there should be a fuel pump relay. It's coil or contacts, maybe your problem.

Do not clean the ground cable, replace it,and have your dad check the inertia switch, add grounds to the battery to the frame, and the body to engine, see if this will help.

My fuse panel dose not say which one is for rear defrost my 2005 dodge neon and I have no owners manual

The fuse you need is in the fuse box inside the vehicle. It will be behind a trim panel in the end of the dashboard with the vehicle door open. Check fuses 6 and 7. Some features in a vehicle share a fuse. **Note** ALWAYS replace a fuse with one the same colour and Amp rating.
try this website it lists most fuses and which fuse box it is in.

Radiator vs. transmission

same issue. tranny fluid is cooled via intercooler that runs along bottom of radiator. this developed a crack and because tranny fluid is under more pressure, started dumping tranny fluid into radiator. A couple guys recommended replacing rad, then servicing tranny just in case any coolant leaked backwards.
