It is 7 quarts with the filter.

    In other words, if you change your oil and replace the filter, it will take 7 quarts. The filter holds almost one complete quart.

Have 2000 excursion with water in the oil

take to mechanic ,blown gasket or cracked blockor casting,major problem don't drive, will damage motor or seize up! water jacket in engine could be compromized

2004 ford excursion 6.0 was slow at starting unless plugged in, now won't start at all need to know exactley where the glow plug relay is located

im assuming this is the diesal 6.0, and your using the heated plug for over night. in this case check the battery,starter, and altinator. sounds like the oil is warm and starts easily, and oil is cold and has hard time turning the engine over due to the cold (thicker) oil. or the starter just may not be getting the full amount of amps it needs to turn it over, I would start there and if this works, then try a thinner oil in the cold weather, then thicker for summer.

5W-30 is usually recomended but it should be also written on the oil cap itself............Hope this helps you out.

Oil in the radiator means either a blown head gasket, cracked cylinder head, or cracked block. You need to have this checked out immediately, as you will ruin your engine running it this way.

it sounds like when the mechanic removed all the belt and water pump they have disturbed the front crank oil seal removing the crank pully this is very common accedent get them to check .

Belt tensioner

lower right hand side on front of engine just above the a/c compressor it is held in place by 2 10mm bolts it is a duel pulley tensioner with 1 smooth pulley and 1 grooved.
