Question about 2005 Buick LaCrosse

Open Question

I am attempting to replace the low beam headlight bulb on a 2005 Buick Allure. I have managed to raise the plastic clip holding the assembly in place. I have removed the screw and raised the metal clip also holding the assembly in place. I have removed the plastic pin and pulled out the coloured plastic strip between the high and low beams, but I do not seem to have enough room to move the assembly forward to get at the bulb for replacement. Any suggestions?

I just Replaced a Low Beam Light bulb on a 2005 Buick La Sabre.

If You use a Metric socket and Remove the Two Silver bolts Attaching the headlight Assemble onto the metal surrounding the the lamp assembly it comes out to the front. This makes it much easier to access the bulb. Twist it counerclockwise & it comes out by pulling gently on the bulb. Then by realeasing a tab that is the socket holder bulb can be removed & replaced with a New #9006 low beam halogen light bulb. Wrap a Paper towel around the bulb & do NOT touch it with your bare hand as this wiil ruin a halogen bulb,

Low beam headlights working

You are correct there is a third connection from the Headlight assembly to the car but it is made with the white pull-up connector. There are actually two plastic studs that are both holding the lamp assembly to the vehicle but they are both released with the one white pull-up clip. Make sure you are pulling up and forward on that clip to release the hold on the HL assembly. After you remove the white clip and the side fastener the HL assembly will come out. Sometimes you will have a wresting match with it to pull it free as they do get stuck after time. One way I loosen them up is by smacking them with an open hand with just the right amount of force, just be sure not to hurt you or the assembly and take off your rings.

Need to change the left side low beam headlight.

It might be hard to get to like that. You will see a silver metal bar with a 90 degree angle at the top that goes straight down behing the headlight assembly, which you can pull up on. It holds the headlight in. Once you pull this up pust the headlight slightly sideways as there is a plug holding the headlight in at the back, then just pull forward to give youself space to work. Clip off the two clips and slide the back cover off then you can change the bulb out.

Changing headlight bulbs, low beam, need procedure

You will have to raise the hood and get to the back side of the light assembly. There will be a plastic cap or rubber dust cover that the wires go thru to the light. If it is a cap, turn it a 1/4 turn counterclockwise and pull it back out of the way. The bulb socket should come out of the light now. Unclip the old bulb. DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS PART OF THE NEW BULB. Skin oils can cause bulb to blow. Plug the new bulb in. Put it back in the lamp assembly and replace the cap. IF it is the dust cap, pull it out of the way, may have to wiggle it. If there is a clip that looks like a bent paperclip holding the bulb in with a screw at each end, the clip should squeeze and release the bulb. Put new one in and reassemble.

2007 buick allure headlights will not turn on parking lights work, high beams work. no low beams or daytime running lights

As you described the problem the solution is to replace the headlight bulbs, they have two elements one for normal lighting or low beam and one for high beams. the elements for the low beams are continuously used and are subject to burn sooner.

Open hood, look on top of head light assm, you will see a bolt or screw, these hold assm in. remove, and pull out assm. Turn lock collar, remove old bulb, install new, BUT DO NOT TOUCH GLASS END OF BULB WITH YOU HAND, the oil from your skin will make the bulb explode when it is heated.
