Question about 1985 Nissan Pickup
My 85 nissan pick-up has 2 coils and 8 plugs, it is a 4 cylinder. Can some one explain how this system works? One of the coils has no spark, I installed a new one, and this did nothing. The truck has been running fine till this problem. Now it runs like it has a dead plug or 2.
I am a ford man and have no idea what makes this thing tick.
Any help out there?
Answer: Your truck’s ignition system should "fire" both coils during normal operating conditions. On full acceleration, it "cuts" one coil out. All this is controlled by the PCM (computer). You could possibly have faulty wiring also.
