To help you with the best information and diagram, I need to know what size of motor you have?

1.8L, 2.5L, 3.5L.....with a/c, without a/c?

okay...here is the diagram and I'll explain how to do this:

Each side of the shaft there is a bolt hole. Loosen, and then remove the inner most bolt. On the other bolt, simply lossen it to give you less tension on the pump. remove the old belt...install the new one and then put pressure/leverage on the pump to give you tension on the new belt and then tighten the loose bolt and install the bolt that was removed.

By the way, this is a picture of your power steering pump without the reservoir on it.

How do i replacen the belts on the pullys

On 1.8 engines. Loose the belt ajustment next to the power steering pump and remove the belt. There is nut holding this ajustment screw, For the one that goes into the Alternator loose the ajustment underneath the alternator, You dont have to remove any bolts on the Alternator or Power steeing pump. (To prevemt noise make sure you replace with Gates belts instead of Nissan.)

How do I locate tension wheel to replace serpntne belts 04 sentra

The serpentine belt runs everyting under the hood...easiest way to locate the tension wheel is to look at every other wheel that the belt runs to.

Your tension wheel will be where the belt runs without being in a V channel, the tension wheel will be flat..no grooves to accomodate the belt.

Hope this helps

Chirp when starting

You probably have the same issue as many Sentra owners- bleed off of fuel pressure. This would cause a hard starting condition when the vehicle sits overnight. See TSB# NTB05-052a for the procedure. This is a dealer-only repair (parts are not available aftermarket).

As for the squeal, I've seen a LOT of this- the belts on these vehicles are less than excellent quality. The belts might look fine and some mechanics will say that they don't need to be replaced, but they are noisy and they can't be quieted up even by overtensioning them. Replacement is the only repair. Aftermarket belts can also be very noisy, so I would suggest Original Equipment (Nissan) belts.

Hope this is helpful!!!
