  1. Record the radio anti theft code data.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Disconnect the positive battery cable. Remove the battery.
  3. Disconnect the AFS connector. Remove the air cleaner upper cover. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  4. Disconnect the air cleaner hose. Remove the battery tray retaining bolts. Remove the battery tray.
  5. Remove the inhibiter switch connector wire. Remove the solenoid valve connector wire. Remove the input speed sensor connector wire.
  6. Remove the vehicle speed sensor connector wire.
Installation is in reverse order...I hate putting that line but it's true...

I assume it is a front wheel drive? Then those sensors are usually bolted on to the Front axle area. Should be wires to it so if you see the wires you have it.

Get the codes read (most auto parts stores will do this for free), then determine what the cause may be. Sounds initially like crankshaft sensor (no rpm signal), but you would need code to verify that.

Where is the input speed sensor SC297 located

On the front wheels one each side senses the speed the wheels are rotating it generates a small DC voltage around .5v uses it as a referance to compare it to the third sensor VVS witch is senseing the output speed of the drive shaft at the rear of the transmission.

For the record: if the sensors they're referring to are the input or output shaft speed sensors, they are very easy to find...just remove the air intake box (where the air filter is) and they're right there on top of the transmission. Input sensor is the one closer to the front of the vehicle, output towards the rear.

Tran oil

The simplest way is to take your own trans fluid to a shop with a flush system available...otherwise you have to drop the trans pan....make sure you use the factory fluid
