Sounds like a fuel pump issue or the coils are going out.

91 Lumina won't stay running; see lots of same question for same car but no problem solvers....Please help.

On electronic fuel injection pumping an pumping an pumping the gas pedal does nothing without the engine running ! Pushing the gas pedal to the floor will cause the PCM - engine computer to go into clear flood mode .

You have some very interesting ideas here , but not really how it works or is !

The vehicle will go into closed loop fuel control when the engine coolant temp reaches a definded temp an the O2 sensor get hot.

She would run for a couple minutes and die which is open loop when running, closed loop is when the sensors kick and it would die. Pulled spark plugs, they were black meaning no spark. Can only be 2

Black spark plugs indecate a rich condition , over fueled , wet spark plugs indecate no spark .

I have a 91 Chevy Lumina, just replaced the injectors and all the coils on saturday and ran fine but when driving it would have trouble it seemed shifting, starting today when you hit the gas the car dies...

Your ignition spark control module is going bad, your coils pack are located right underneth them. this is what tells your coils packs to produce spark to your spark plugs. they are easy to replace just make sure you mark you coil pack with some tape and make sure you put them back in the same order as they came off the spark control module. Easy to replace, just make sure you use the proper size torx or socket size on the screw heads...

I just bought 1991 Chevy Lumina with 51000 original miles on it. Before i took it to a mechanic the guy i bought it from said it would idle but when you step on gas it would die. Took it to mechanic and...

It could be, but you had a mechanic working on it right? Ignition control box? does it run better now?
where is the smoke coming from, exhaust pipe or under the hood? Did the mechanic check the fuel pressure and replace the fuel filter? Did they check for vacuum leaks? These should be the first thing they need to check.

My chevy lumina began acting like the emergency brake was partially on when braking, then 2 days later i go to store and i slow to turn and it dies, then i get it started again turn into store and it dies...

Replace the fuel filter first, since it is the least costly and user friendly part to get to. My APV had disconnect fitting which you depressed tabs and released the filter from the line. Take the front (engine) side off first. If it is plugged the fuel will not drip on you as much! Good luck.
The pump is in the gas tank. You should hear a buzz when you have the key on as it builds up pressure. If not, it may be the fuel relay.

1998 chevy lumina driving down the road and it just died. it will turn over but wont start. Something with the fuel system? Changed filter.

There are literally dozens of thing that could cause a car to die and not start again. If could be fuel related: fuel pump, fuel filter, fuses, bad gas, etc. It could be spark related: crankshaft sensor, ignition module, coil pack, etc. It could be mechanical: timing chain (or belt), broken internal engine parts, etc. My point is, it is impossible to determine what's wrong without further diagnostis. I recomend you take the car to a mechanic you can trust and have it looked at. Stay away from the big chain stores and find an independant garage.

91 Accord Car will initially start then when driving it will die sometimes starts right away sometimes 10 or 20 minutes later but has gotten more frequent about dying and taking longer to start

I have a 1991 honda accord dx that had the same problem. while driving it would just completely shut down. after about 5 minutes it start and run for a while then shut down again getting more frequently. There was a recall on the ignition control module (ignitor) which is in the distributor. call your local honda dealer with your vin # and will tell you if yours was replaced. If not I bought one from parts store for $60 or you could take a chance and buy one from a junk yard. I bought the whole distributor for $20 as a back up.
