2005 ford focus blown 20 amp fuse under hood fuse f9. Replace with same amp and fuse blew as soon as we tried starting the car. I realize there may be a short somewhere but do have an idea of where I should start looking? The last expert simply told me I have a problem and take it to a dealership. Not what I am looking for. Thank you!

Its sounds like your PCM (powertrain control module) has gone out. You may be able to get one from a bone yard and replace but it is a dealer only part.

If you replaced the fuse with the right amps then you have a different problem which would need hands on testing. You will need to check with a car electrician to solve this problem.

The 15 amp blew. I replaced it and it blew again the next day. What would cause this?

if the fuse keeps blowing that means there a short somewhere or if its the fuse is too small ie: should be a 20 but theres a 10 in there

I changed the battery and negative treminal for my 1995 ford escort and as soon as I hooked up the battery it blew the 100 amp main fuse under the hood. I replaced the 100 amp fuse and hooked the battery...

At a guess, I'd say that you have got the new battery in back to front. This means that you are hooking the earth wires to the Positive side of the battery.

Car shut down directly after turning on and now wont stard we have found that one of the 20 amp fuses is blown could this be the problem on my ford taurus 05 model

Yes, it probably blew soon as you started the vehicle. It depends on what the fuse is for.
Try replacing the fuse, and see if that helps anything.

(if no fuses available, take a fuse of equal amperage from something you can live without (ie. radio, cigarette lighter) and try it in the spot of the blown fuse.)

hope this helps!

2005 ford focus fuse box

There is a 1 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box for the alternator charging signal. Also, there is a 175 amp fusible link for the alternator, which is located under a plastic cover, next to the top of the timing belt cover.
