The cable release is stuck...try spraying with some good releaser and a long "straw"to get under from the edge. Spray and try, spray and try, spray and try. That worked for me...and then I cleaned it all very well and used a heavy grease in the entire area after spraying well with wd-40 as far into the cable as I could.

Can't open hood on mt 91 Ranger, pulling the handle inside the truck doesn't release hood

Ford has the worst adjustable hood adjusters. they tend to break on all models vehicles made making the hood difficult to open.Have someone pull and hold the release handle out while you push on one corner of the front of the hood to see if it will open. Try the other side if the one side will not open at first

Want to buy s type jag but i need to know what type gas it uses

Jaguar recommends the highest grade of gas for the best overall performance. usually this is between 91 and 95 octane, however many of our Jaguar customers just put the mid- or low grade fuel in the car. Now you can do this but the performance and in most cases the gas mileage wont be as good as the premium gas.
The way I see it is if jaguar did all that testing and engineering for that car and they came to the conclusion that it works best with high octane then i would do it. But hey, its your choice, i hope i helped you out.

I had this exact same problem and the cable was broken. There is a way to get it open by going through the wheel well. Let me know if this is still an issue for you and I can walk you through it. Thanks!

My 1995 jaguar xj6 left side of my hood wont open:

O don't know if you can get through the grill, but if you can, you are still going to have the hood stick down by the catch at the front so it won't get you very far. Treating this as a 2 man job may be more successful. One of you needs to be pressing down on the hood directly above the catch (To relieve the pressure on the catch) while the other pumps and jiggles the lever in the car. This may release it. Alternatively (and I don't know about this car in particular, but it will work on some) If you lie under the car, you may be able to see the control cable tor the release, If you can, and you can hook it and pull on it while someone is doing the jiggle and sitting suggested above, the slight stretch of the outer cable may will give you that extra bit of movement on the inner to get it freed off.
