IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for yours VW radio from the car manufacturer! For VW radio the sequence of programming is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
3. By the #1 key you will set up the first safe code digit.
4. By the #2 key you will set up the second safe code digit.
5. By the #3 key you will set up the third safe code digit.
6. By the #4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

Most of the time the radio code is written down on the inside front or rear cover of the owners manual.

If that is not the case then hopefully you will be able to get the code from a Volkswagen dealership with only the VIN number to the vehicle, otherwise you will need to remove the radio to get the serial number from that radio in order to obtain the correct code from a Volkswagen dealership.

You will need to contact a Volkswagen dealership to find out which is applicable to your vehicle, and that is also the same way that any repair shop would obtain that radio code.

Doug, VW radio code is located on radio code card in your owners manual or contact an authorized Volkswagen dealer to get the code.
with your vehicles vin. and radio ser.# and proof you are the owner of vehicle the code should be free. I believe it may state this right in your manual. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How do I get the radio code on my beetle?

The radio code is located in the owners manual. Usually on the radio flyer with a sticker showing the code. If you do not have that owners manual, you can call the VW dealer with you VIN number and they will get the code for you. They usually do not charge you for it, but it does take a little while for them to locate it in the system.

Since changing my battery, vw gamma radio has gone into safe mode, can anyone help me?!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must have the security anti-theft code for your VW radio from the car manufacturer, or from a VW dealer!

You can find the radio code at: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/

The sequence of VW radio gamma programming is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
For example: we have the security code "5079". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 5 times on the no.# 1 button. The "5" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 10 times on the no.# 2 button. The "0" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 7 times on the no.# 3 button. The "7" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 4 button. The "9" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed.

The radio is now ready for use!

PLESAE ASSIST WITH VW RADIO CODE NUMBERS ON RADIO vwz1z2f1455025 thanks

Unfortunately, only a VW dealer can get the code for you. Fortunately, it should be a free service if you supply the serial number. I think there should be a service on the web for things like this. Vw has gone the other way. They no longer make a peoples car. It is a computer on wheels, and it seems to have its share of problems. I am good at fixing them, but its not your daddy's VW.
The number would be on the owners manual, if you have it. On the inside cover most likely.
Good Luck!

2008 VW radio code Battery went dead and now the radio doesn't work and I do not have the code.

SOMETIMES THE DEALER WILL BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU WITH THIS. A PHONE CALL SHOULD RESOLVE THIS IF YOU TELL THEM YOU HAVE THE VIN NUMBER. WORST CASE SCENARIO, YOU WILL NEED TO BRING THE CAR TO THE DEALER. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOUIN YOUR QUEST FOR TUNES. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA AND FOR AN HONEST RATING. BEST OF LUCK.
