Are you using carburetor spray to clean it? Because if this chemical gets into the motor it could cause lets say you've been cleaning it properly is it working intermitantly then if it is then the one of the wires could be shorting out making it look like it not working properly. i send you good luck and hope you can trace down that wire.

My 1998 Dodge 1500 Ram with a 318 engine stalls when I come to a stop. This only happens when the engine is warm.

It probably Throttle position sensor and/or the Idle Air Control Valve. If you need more help diagnosing these, please let me know what tools you have and we can go from there. (i.e. do you have a multi-meter? etc...)

My 2001 dodge ram 1500 magnum v8 idle is off,how do i adjust it?

It's computer controlled, so it's not really adjustable.
You might be able to turn a screw for base idle.
If the idle speed is low it may be due to a dirty throttle body or a faulty idle air control valve.

Why won't my truck stay running when I'm not

Try cleaning your throttle body. Over time on high mileage vehicles, the throttle body butterfly valve will gunk up with sludge, and dirt. This will prevent air from entering the intake manifold while the engine is idling, causing low idle/stalling. A can of throttle body/carb cleaner will do the job. First, remove the intake tube to get to the butterfly valve. Spray a small amount of throttle body cleaner directly into the intake, and wipe any excess fluid with a cloth. Also, inspect your air filter. I hope this helps

Upon starting 99 ram 1500 it starts to idle down and almost die but once i give it gas its fine for a while what to do?

Have someone check the idle air control valve. When you are idling the intake air takes a different path into the motor than it does when you depress the accelerator. A hunting / erratic idle is a good indicator of a faulty IAC. Sometimes you can clean them but best to replace.

High Idle sitting in Park Position

Have the idle/air control valve checked, it is screwed or bolted on the side of the throttle plate/ throttle body.

Idle air control valve

Carbon build up in the valve portion wont let it open and close properly, most of them can be cleaned with parts cleaner and a small stiff brush, I had a service manager share this with me after he saw me purchase my second one. this little trick saved me alot of money over the seventeen year period that I owned the truck. I hope this helps you, Good luck !!!
