I have a 1997 jeep grand cherkee 4.0 recently had to replace the water pump. since then I have check engine light for miss fire and gerneral vacum or electircal problem. Runs fuff at idle but at normal speed is fime Any suggestions
You will need to check the codes and see exactly what cylinder is misfiring, this maybe caused due to a vacuum leak or bad wires or if it has a coil then a bad coil boot, this may not have anything to do with the waterpump job, or might,if you could pinpoint which cylinder it was, then this would help pin point the problem, check around for vacuum leaks, or any connections left loose ,start with that,

I took the car into auto zone and they hooked it up and found that it is a misfire in cylinder 1. I checked the plug alternator and wires as well as the vacum hoses and the all appear to be fine. Where would I go from her. I would really like to keep it out of the service station
