Replace all the ignition coils, this vehicle is known for ignition coil failure. Typical symtoms include: jerks when accellerating, jerks on light-heavy loads, misfire, stalls, check engine light. These coils usually last up to 80k miles.

Throttle Body Cleaning on vehicles without electronic throttle control (most 2003 and down)

You can in most cases repair this slow speed stall or unstable idle by cleaning the engine throttle valve and the idle speed control valve using a product called CRC Spray Throttle valve cleaner. Spray the cleaner into the air intake of the engine with the hose removed from the throttle body, the engine will try to stall so hold up the idle speed manually. Once you have used up about 1/2 can of the cleaner stall the engine out while spraying and turn the key off, disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnect and drive the car for a about 25 miles of varied driving modes. If this doesn't cure the problem you may need the fuel injectors professionally cleaned by the dealer service dept.

My engine light is on and it misses while excelerating and under a load. Thought is might be bad fuel so I put an injector cleaner and a gas treament in it it

What your saying is you have no knowledge about
todays cars with on- board-diagnostic systems that
have been with us for 30 years now

You have a check light on !!
Now an owners manual would be nice

You have to have the car checked for codes,
diagnosed & repaired

Injector cleaner is 10 oz of a product in an 18 gallon
fuel tank. Wasted your money on hype

Professional cleaning is okey ,but to really clean
injectors they have to come out & be mailed away
to be cleaned with ultra sound & spray pattern matched

I will guess you have as most vehicles do today ignition
misfires, then you can check the egr valve,O2 sensors, clean
maf sensor & basically just make love to it until you find something
not right.

Don't need a dealer, but need to be carefull of what a repair
shop will do.
Tune-ups went away with the horse & buggy

You want only the present drivability & code related issues
resolved, make that clear, your in charge, study using the internet

The problem started with uphill acceleration. Car started stuttering. It got steadily worse to where it did the same on passing. Then the idle got rougher. Any ideas ? 2001 Mercury Sable 24 valve .

may need a tune up, if that does not fix the problem then it may be in the fuel system, fuel filter injector lines or pump. I would start with a tune up as this should fix the problem. Hope this helps Tim

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer. It was tuned up about 1 month ago trying to solve a problem with quick exceleration (it wouldn't). Tune up didn't fix it and the garage cannot figure out why it's doing it....

sounds like plug up injector try cleaning injector not by put in injector cleaner in the tank ,if that doesn't solve your problem, you probably need to replace your injector whit the new in prove ones.cosidering that someone check pressure and they found at least 62 psi

Stutters when driving under pressure

check the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors, the common problem with this car is the crank sensor, located on the gearbox, behind the engine, did the home tune carryout a computer diagnostic, if not get one done asap, it will save u money and time.
