I can not tell you how much you should get a steering column place to repair that. Trust me, you don't want to go there. That is one thing is not worth doing yourself.

is your fuse box on the drivers side? and in the inside of the fuse box door they should be labled? that is how mine is.. let me know if yours isnt there..

There is an under the hood fuse block where most fuses are located. There should be a diagram on the underside of the lid that explains what fuse is what. It also might be located on the drivers side of the dash in the door jam. German's like to use little pictures so look for something that resembles A/C and check if any of the fuses are blown.
