Cost about the same, your going to have to replace the heads on the engine and most likely replace the piston that the valves were being hit by.
This would be a total engine tear down to repair, there are shops that say no and just run the damaged pistons which will work. But it's just a meter of time before a connecting rod or pin fail causing another engine tear down.
More economical to replace the whole engine with new internal parts. Thank you for using fixya and good luck, you can also upgrade your engine by using timing gears instead of the belt. But it will be loader, since you'll hear the gears whining.

How much fuel pressure do I have to have before it will start,

If the car started and ran fine before the serpentine belt broke - that may be the answer to your problem.

If the belt also controls the valve timing (not the ignition timing, which is a different thing) the valve timing has probably altered. You will have to reset the valve timing using the timing marks for your vehicle.

In a worst case scenario, a snapped timing belt can allow the pistons to hit the valves and damage them. If this is the case your engine isn't going to fire up.

If you're not sure what to look for or do - give a mobile mechanic a call

Changing timing belt

what make and model . even its running well you"ll have to replace your timing belt. because when this snaps while your driving high speed the worst case scenario is ..valves will bent and sometimes will ram to your pistons and probably will destroy your block..if i were you have it check or replace it will save you a lot of trouble and money

I have a 2005 kia sportage. May have broken a timing belt . How will I know if I messed up my engine

Four cylinder or V6? Best case scenario you bent some valves. Worst case scenario you put a hole through piston. If the belt is broke before you replace it you can pull the valve cover and remove the cam bearing caps so all the valves will be closed. Then use a compression gauge to see if all the cylinders still have compression. Off the top of my head it should be around 130psi. If you have one or more with significantly less compression you have bigger issues.

If the cam belt breaks whats the worst case senario

the worst that could happen is that it will bend every valve in the head. it's as repairable as a blown head gasket, with the additional cost of new valves, seals, and perhaps valve guides.

I put a blower motor from a 88 astrovan into a 89 subarbun . the fan is 1" shorter , i assume that is why i get less airflow . can i put the fan off the subarbun blower onto the astro motor ?

All I can say is try it. The worst-case scenario is that it won't work, in which case, you needed a blower motor for your Suburban to begin with.

There seems to be a loud squeak in my engine, might be belts? Especially loud when idleing.

Best case senario is that you have a loose accessory belt. Worst case would be noise is comming from the timing belt tensioner or idler pully. If that part fails it could destroy your engine. Take your car to a mechanic ASAP and have it diagnosed properly. If it is just an accessory belt it won't be expensive , If it is a problem with the timing (cam) belt , it will cost some $$ but could save you from having to pay for a NEW ENGINE.

Broken timing belt on 1993 Nissan Maxima

this is an interference motor, if the timing belt snapped/broke while running. Its possible that you may have internal engine damage(worst case). I suggest having a mechanic check it out before performing the belt replacement. Hopefully this helps

My 1997 chevy cavalier wont start.its getting spark and fuel.but wont fire it has a 2.2 ecotec.

Sounds like cam belt has snapped. If it broke while starting, could be cheap fix...new belt. Worst case: cylinder head off for overhaul...bent valves / pistons replaced.
