How do I clean the Plenum/Air Intake system

If you are just cleaning the throttle plate/bore, use carb cleaner in a spray can ( this will also clean some of the plenum as it is injested into the vehicle ) and remove the air intake hose from the air cleaner to the throttle bore assembly. OPen the throttle plate by hand and spray cleaner inside ( with vehicle not running ) and remove any carbon/oil deposits that are around the throttle plate. If the plate area is very dirty/black in color, you can use a toothbrush to help clean. When vehicle is started, it may run rough until all the extra cleaner is burned from the intake. If you want the entire upper system cleaned, you will require a fuel injection cleaning machine that most shops will have. The do it at home procedure as mentioned works well

Intake cleaner or carb and choke cleaner???

The two products are generally the same with a couple of differences.
Sometimes the intake and throttle body cleaner can be sprayed upside down to reach areas hard to get to with the can in the upright position.
Some intake and throttle body cleaner products are supposed to be ok with special metals and plastics used on newer cars and trucks.
You would probably be safer with intake and throttle body cleaner if the car is fuel injected.

Why does my 2005 chrysler town and country "hesitate" when I first hit the gas pedal?

Have you ever done a fuel injection cleaning, other than a bottle in the gas tank? There is a butterfly in the intake that gets gummed up. Take the intake hose off, get a can of fuel injection cleaner, (Not Carb Cleaner) and spray it all down, soak it good and use a clean rag. Have some one push the peddle down to open the butterfly, and clean it out real good, use plenty of cleaner, put it all back together and run it for a few minutes. See if that helps.

Check the alternator belt for proper tension. Also check alternator voltage output. If output is low the rest of the systems can fail.
