Replace battery also then use a multimeter at the fuse box to check for power drains to find the loss of power. A tune up may be in order if it runs poorly.

Battery has dead cells or you have something with power on in your vehicle that is draining it because its on more than likely dead battery replace the battery if its more than 3 to 4 years old some will last longer but not much longer

My 1997 Altmia keeps stalling and putting when I stop or slow down. I changed the wires and spark plugs but it is still doing it. It cut off several times today. When I had the lights on the inside and...

sounds like your alternator could be going bad, most major autoparts stores will do a free battery, starter and alternator test, and tell you what your problem is. just make sure you ask for a full charging system test otherwise they will probably just check the battery (if the battery tests bad you wont get an accurate test on your alternator, so replace the battery then have them run the test again right away) If it is the alternator, dont let it go too long, a bad alternator can kill your battery, a bad battery can kill your alternator and starter, and a bad starter can kill a battery.

no promises that this is your problem but it is where I would start, there are other possibilites as well, such as a weak feul pump or clogged fuel filter, if your engine isn't getting enough gas it will dog down and stall. But like I said above I would start with the battery/alternator/starter test.

I try to start it and it just make a click noise and wont start

Possible bad Starter motor. Possible dead battery. Possible bad Alternator resulting in a dead battery.
First try have someone hold the key in Full Start position, hear the click and tap on starter motor with a hammer. If it kicks in and starts up (be ready for that) then the starter is going bad and should be replaced. (Might get 3 -4 more starts like that)
BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOT TAP ON WIRES.
If there is no change, then you should be able to jump start it with cables from another battery/car.
Then you need to figure out if the battery is expired or if the Alternator is not charging enough.
You can do this with a multimeter on the battery. With engine running you should read about 14.5 volts or more, up to around 15 volts plus.. If not, if voltage is around 12 volts or lower, when running, then you will need to replace the Alternator.

If you are getting good voltage from the alternator, then you can assume you need to replace the battery. The other alternative is a short circuit draining the battery or you left a light on somwhere and drained it. Run the car for 30 to 40 mins minimum to recharge battery (idle is good). Or just use a battery charger. 10 amps for 3- 4 hours, or 2 amps overnight..
Hope this is helpful.

When trying to start my 1991 Plymouth Sundance America I hear only a clicking sound. I replaced the battery but it did not work. Can it be the alternator?

sounds like you have a bad starter.not your alternator.if the battery is good the car should start even if the alternator is bad.you can even drive the car until the battery runs low.the alternator job is to keep the battery charged.soulds like the solinoid is clicking.but no responce from the starter.have starter checked.

How do you connect alternator wires to the starter

There is only one wire common to the alternator and starter and this is the main+ wire which goes from the alternator down to the main feed terminal of the starter solenoid from there it runs to the battery + terminal. If you are replacing the cable use one of the same diameter......

My buicks battery has just died. When I jumped it it goes to turn over for a second with a click and then dies down, but all the lights come on. How do I know if its the starter alternator or battery

if the lights are bright and you hear a clicking and your heat blows good, the head lights are still real bright after trying to start a few time replace the starter (you can try to hit the starter with a hammer otr somthing heavy a few times and then try to start if it sounds better or starts replace the starter) if the battery goes dead try to jumpit if it starts then dies after a few min its the alt if it starts runs good and you let it run for about half hour shut it off and it wont restart rite away its the battery.

I always check remans before they are installed; the Bendix may not be advancing the starter gear or you may have teeth missing from the flywheel. I'd pull the starter and check the condition of the flyhweel.
