Take front wheel off, loosen the two blots that hold down the calipers and use a large screwdriver to squeeze back as far as they can go, this help compress the pistons so the new pads will fit properly then install it reverse. install wheel.

Chevy Malibu 2001 with 89,000 miles idling too high during park

Back to the mechanic - sounds like either an IAC motor or TPS sensor is the problem, but also could be the throttle cable (sticking leaving the throttle not fully closed).

My 03 POS Malibu has had $4,000 in repairs the last few years. Now it won't start after driving! Have to wait an hour or so.

Are there any lights on the dash when this happens? Look for a light that says security or antitheft. If you see this, go to this link. That would explain the symptoms

Cant find correct front rotors for my 2004 chevy malibu classic.

Sometimes when a car is built it may have parts from the previous year. Even though it is a 2004, the parts for a 2003 is what you need. Unless the front spindles were changed. Bring the old rotors to the local auto parts store so they can match them up. Other wise a trip to the local dealer is a last resort.

I need help changing my brakes. my car is 99 chevy malibu. I cant seem to take off the big part!

I'm not sure what you mean by the big part. The caliper is held on by 2 bolts and the caliper mount is held on by 2 bolts. both must be removed to remove the rotor.

Malibu chevy

I have the same problem with my 2002 malibu and my mechanic told me it is a burnt resistor. I am not sure how hard it is to change and I am assuming it is a resistor on the fan.

2003 chervolet malibu - 60,000 miles

This happens on my '99 Malibu, too. No one I've talked to seems to know how to fix it, or they'll insist I take it to a Chevy stealership to get it fixed.
