Bring the vehicle to a repair shop and have them scan the ECU for codes . Have the shop repair the items the code(s) direct them to.

I have a 1999 saturn. I need to. Replace the. Camshaft. Censor

It does not have a Cam sensor. I would check for vacuum leaks around the area where the intake manifold bolts to the head. Very common for them to leak.

What is the RPM at and how long does it stay there. How long has it been doing this? Is the check engine light on?

Misfire on 2 and 5

Hi Paula,

You didn't mention if you changed the plug wires.

You mentioned replacing the camshaft sensor. Have you checked the Crankshaft Position Sensor? Or the Mass Air Flow Sensor (may need cleaning)? Or the Throttle Position Sensor?

Have you changed the spark plug wires? This is the most common cause of a misfire. After changing the wires, I would then have the Timing checked and a new timing belt installed. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may have a Crankshaft Position Sensor or Camshaft Position Sensor failing. If this doesn't fix the problem, have your fuel pressure tested.

The ligth blinks due to the missfire, many things can cause the miss, blown head gasket, burnt valve, burned piston, failed fuel injector, defective computer, defective wiring to the engine fuel injectors, flat camshaft, and so on.
