I have a 02 saturan l200 and the shift stick broke off from place where the gears are. I know it sounds confusing but I don't know the name of all the parts. Can anyone help me

Pull up on the shift lever boot to disengage from the console. The shift lever boot is rubber or leather or some other material !
Using a small screwdriver, remove the lever assembly retaining clip.
Remove the lever assembly ! I know this may sound complicated but it's real easy ! The shift leaver goes to a shift linkage that goes to the gear box !

How to remove the shifter in a 1992 ford explorer

you will have to remove the area around the shift lever inside the car to be able to get to the 4 bolts that hold the gear lever into the top of the box (turret bolts). Undo the bolts and lift the assembly off the top of the box . Stuff rags into the hole to prevent dirt from under the car getting into the top of the box

How do I relplace gear shift?

If you have a stick shift ( floor shift) remove the boot around the gear stick and the insulation on the floor to reveal the 4 bolts that hold the shift turret on to the top of the box. Undo the bolts and lift the gear lever assembly out of the gear box.

Chevy cavalier gear shifter

if it is s manual box remove the gear lever tower from the top of the box and see what damage was done to the bottom of lever and/or lever pivot pin in the tower. Remember normal gear boxes require a gentle shift to allow the syncro rings to work properly and if you want to do racing changes get yourself a specially built box.

Only shifts into second gear, and the shift linkage seems way too far foreward theirs no room for first.

Hi Zack, If we're talking about a manual transmission you may have to make modifications to the shift rod on your box. If memory serves correctly I believe there is an extension bracket on top of the box, with the lever fitted through it. The actual selector rod is below it and operated by the lever using the mounting as the fulcrum. The top mount will need to be removed and extended backwards, which will bring the selector lever back too. Make sure that you can select the rearward range of gears. Regards John

2009 hyundai sonata stuck in gear

If there is no way in which the lever can come out even after you start and run the engine and engage the clutch, then it is a fault within the gear box as a possible gear must have jammed with a worn out selector. It will be necessary to remove the tansmission and check for fault if there is no jamming of the gear levers mechanically. Use extra leverage to try and move the gear linkage and if this seems too hard do not attempt.
You need to be equipped to remove and check this out or take consensus.

How do you fix a shift cable

To replace the shifting cable for the gear selection, you have to remove first the console box where the gear shift lever is and once you have access to the cable look for a lock that connects the cable to the shifting lever and remove it. do the same on the transmission side of the cable, then when the cable is free from the linkages attached to it pull it out with care. If it is stuck on the brackets loosen and give a slight **** on the cable.

Whats the best way to drop the gearbox & transfer case?

remove the carpet on the floor, remove the gear shift lever as well as the 4wd shift lever, remove the drive shaft (both) remove the bell housing bolts, remove the starter, place a hydraulic lift jack below the gear box , then remove the wiring connectors , then remove the cross member , then pull the gearbox out from its positin, drop the gearbox very carefully, when gearbox is on the floor, make sure its sittin on a up right position so it dose not spoil any of the elctric connectors especially the reverse light switch...(that seems to be the easiest way to remove a manual land cruiser gearbox) hope that wil help....
