Basically the purging solenoid is stuck closed.
You can go to dealer and purchase the part and do the install yourself. After part is installed erase the code with your scanner . The other option is to farm the job out to a repair shop. This will not put a big hole in your pocket

It is throwing the p0171 and p0443 what could it be and is it easy to fix and fairly cheep

Code 171 is fuel system too lean bank one. That means the computer can not make the O2 sensor switch from lean to rich and back. Could be the sensor, or a fuel problem.
Code 443 is a problem with the evap purge valve circuit. Could be the valve or a wiring problem. The purge valve vents fumes from the gas tank to the vapor canistor.

How to fix code PO496 in my 2006 GMC Envoy SLT..Hard to start after refueling & sometimes hesitant in the mornings with a puff of black smoak coming out the back.

This code refers to the EVAP purge flow happening when it is not commanded. Suspect a purge control solenoid. If the solenoid is stuck open, it will draw gas fumes and possibly raw fuel into the engine resulting in a rich condition ( black smoke ) and can cause the symptoms described. If left unchecked, it will compromise the evaporative emmission canistor by filling it with fuel and result in needless replacement of it

I have a 2002 trail blazer i smell gas from the driver side but dnt see no links n my gas gauge saying im not losing any gas so what could it b

First of all, do you have a Check Engine Light on? If so, what is the code? (You can have your nearest autoparts store - Autozone, Advanced, O'Reilly - read your code for free.)

Chances are, for it is a fairly common problem on GM Vehicles, more specifically the trucks and SUV's, it is coming from the Evaporative Emissions System - commonly referred to as the Evap System. The purge valve solenoid, if I'm not mistaken, is build into the purge valve itself, which basically allows fuel vapor to be vented into the atmosphere or to the charcoal/vapor canistor. These have a series of vacuum lines going inbetween the parts, and these hoses have a tendency to come off, dry rot, split, develop holes, etc. This will cause a gas smell, without leaks! Also, if the canister gets too saturated, or the purge valve malfunctions, this will also cause gasoline odors. Good luck!

Torubleshoot code p0441

the purge flow in the evaporative emission control system is incorrect.
if you
the purge flow valve is on the front of the engine bolted to the intake. has 2 big vacuum lines coming from it. the other working part of the system is the vent valve which is located on the evap canistor on the gas tank. you have to have a scanner and go into test mode to active each valve, you can hear them click when activated. if both of those valves are working properly then there is a blockage somewhere in the lines in that system, or the port on the intake is clogged. sometimes this problem can be difficult to find. the dealer can fix this problem, and it is fairly common on most newer mitsubishi's. carbon builds up and can break off and go into the system and get lodged somewhere causing a blockage and not purging the engine of excess unburnt fuel.

Check engine light on computer code says po499 code not in book

It will be either a gas cap seal, blocked gas vent or EVAP / carbon canistor purge valve fault.

0441 the most common fix for this code in chrysler/dodge vehicles is to replace the leak detection pump / ldp -----other areas to check would be damage / restriction in evap line / canister---faulty purge solenoid or connection damage or resistance in line -bad vacuum switch
