No you didnt line every thing up perfectly.one of the cams turned on you or you had the belt slack in btween the cams or on the side of the engine that the tensioner is NOT on. you will have to redo. you have to instal a tool to lock the 2 cams together to prevent turning on thier own.they dont like to stay were you have to have them

Icant get my 2001 kia rio in time after changing my timing belt

Your going to have to take the belt back off and line up your marks. The crank, oil pump, cams, etc. all have marks that need aligned with marks on the block. If they are not all lined up you will never get it timed any other way. Also I hope you made sure to block the cams when you removed the belt so they didnt turn on their own. I hope I could be of some help. Good luck

Does a kia rio diesel 56 plate need the timing belt changing or has it got a chain

The engine which is made by Mercedes is not belt driven, it has a timing chain, timing chains never need to be replaced unless they fail or the engine is being rebuilt.

Timing belt tensioner

On the Rio 2002, the tensionner is only used to apply pressure to the timing belt (installation) and cannot be adjusted. Once install the tensionner is "auto adjust" using a spring. If you need to adjust it,may be it time to change the timing belt KIT. Around 60,000 M.
