I am not 100% positive, but I think the ECMB fuse bus is what supplies current to the fuel injection system. Could be a wiring harness short to ground in the engine bay or on/near the block. Check wires and insulation/looms on top of engine and around injectors for wear, burns and contact with bare wire to engine block. Much luck!

Ecmb fuse blows as soon as i put in a fuse without keys in the ing.

hi, i have seen this problem before, i am a trained ase mechanic who works in a shop weekly. in my case, the suburban was a 91, it started by blowing the fuse randomly, then as it got further along, the ecm b fuse would blow consistantly as you describe. I found the problem to be in the wiring harness between the fuse block and the electronic control module on the pink/black power wire. It had become hot next to the radio and the insulation had melted into a direct ground to the ecm. then as time passed, it melted six other wires till it hit battery power. this is when it shorted the fuse all the time with key in or out. You should start by checking behind the glove box at the wiring harness going into the ecm, if you can get a schematic for the wiring, it would be better advised. See if you can find the Pink and black stripe wires(there maybe several of them as they power everything from egr solenoid to oxygen sensor possibly) and look for melting of the insulation. If you do find this to be the case, technically you should replace the whole harness, but it is possible the cut and splice in new wires. If any other wires are affected, you should replace these also. Check the whole length of the affected wires, they may have shorted all the way up or down. If this sounds like a big deal, it is! so, good luck, hope this helps.

Keep blowing the ecmb fuse in my 1991 s-10

check your grounds & the fuel pump connections.the ground should run to the right rear of the motor. look at the wires back to the motor on the frame for anything that may have nicked a wire or a rub thru. You have a short and i belive it shut down if you hit a bump. loose or fraid wire some place. Best of luck & keep us posted on your fix.

No power to fuel pump and the ecmb fuse bows as soon as i put it

Unplug all wires to the distributor, coil, fuel pum and injectors, then see if the fuse blows, if it does, sounds like an ECM failure.

i had the same problem on my other 'burb ('90 2wd with same engine).
after dropping the tank ( about 5 miles after i filled it up!) because i thought the pump had cooked, i figured out the fuse had popped, and kept popping occasionally after that. i re-ran the wiring to the fuel pump, and this fixed the problem.
i checked the old wiring for any short/break in the wire, as there was not any visiable signs of a short, but still couldn't find anything concrete to say "this is where the short was!". but, it didn't matter, since the replaced wiring never gave me an issue and i didn't have to replace another fuse again! good luck brother.
