Question about 1996 Ford Explorer
Horn not sounding when i lock it to turn on the anti theft but the horn works when i press it
Faulty wiring is most likely the issue with your vehicle anti theft sometimes overtime the wiring will get old, disconnected, and possibly water rot I would check the wiring or have a professional alarm installer look at it could even be in the harness. If your anti theft works I wouldn't worry to much about the horn sounding when you click the button however once set if you rock the truck and the alarm doesn't sound their is definitely a reason to get it looked at. easiest way to check yourself is to pop the hood and look for the alarm system usually against the firewall on the right or left corner depending on if it is after market or stock look at the connecting wires trace them down and see if their appears to be any noticeable damage if not last resort check the fuse that the alarm is connected too might be blown. Any more deep of an issue would probably require a specialist to take a look at.
