My 2000 durango has the check engine light on and I was told it has something to do wit the emissions/exhaust. I replaced every sensor having to do with that, I replaced my aftermarket filter system with the orginal, I have replaced the catalytic converter with a brand new one. Can you please help!! Carefully go over all of the rubber emission hoses under the hood as well as under the vehicle near the transfer case. Usually, over time these hoses crack and the system catches it and trips the CE light.

The hoses near the T case are very prone to this.

1999 dodge durango oxygen sensors do notm correct Check Engine Light. Have been told there was a different harness available from Dodge also that an internal vacuum leak can cause this.

have the fault codes read
as the engine light also reports on transmission problems as well as the engine
changing oxygen sensors (O2) will not fix the problem as there is an heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) in the exhaust manifold that controls the air/fuel ration settings and that is affected by a vacuum /exhaust leak

No power backfires,engine code PO134,replaced 02 sensors,map sensor,idle air sensor,throttle position sensor,took to chrysler,paid 150.00 to check,they said they need more time & money.Is a 2000 ULEV...

p0134 is the upstream 02 sensor staying center and will cause a drivability problem. you don't need to replace both of them, the one at fault is the upstream one, mounted on the exhaust manifold.I do it under the vehicle while on a lift, if you can see it from behind the engine and access it, just remove it. spray it down with some penetrating liquid before attempting to remove it

I have a 04 f150 with the 5.4 check engine light is on and it read o2 sensor changed twice still read same problem

you have to figure out what is causing the 02 to activate the light, lean or rich exhaust emissions? what its saying is the sensor is working and it has detected a bad emissions or fuel mix in the exhaust, it is not telling you the 02 is bad, thats what the sensors do they detect faults with temps, knocks, emissions, timing, crank position, fuel air mix, throttle position. so the 02 is detecting something and that something is what needs to be found.

My 2000 dodge durango failed the emissions due to a bad catalytic converter... The check engine light did not come on. Could there be any other reason why it would fail?

really need more info on your durango ? millage , engine , other causes for poor emissions are weak motors , poor gas , tuneup problems and worn emission parts like lazy O2 sensors and catalytic converters

Emission controls problems, fumes from exhaust smells like raw ga

if you ran for very long with a bad oxygen sensor you may have plugged up your catilytic converter. Take it to any exhaust shop usually they will check it for free. this will usually be the cause of the bad smell.

The code PO420 came on for my 2000 Toyota Camray ......

Catalyst Effeciancy below threshold (Bank 1) is the code meaning. Check or replace the oxygen sensors. Some cars have 2 .One is on the front of the cat. the other is the on the back. Check the back sensor . Other possible causes are leaking or damaged exhaust manifold, bad coolant temp sensor. If toyota did not replace both . replace the one on the back of the Caty.
