Is the bulb good? Is it inserted properly? Are the contacts clean? If all above is good, take a tester and see if you get power to the contacts of the bulb, if you do buy a new bulb, if you dont, follow wires to see if something is split.

Have a 03 tahoe my back tail lights are not working the turn signal works and the stop light works jus my driven light is not turn on so at night you cant see the are not on

You have a park lamp relay for all four corners. So if the front parking lights work, we will assume that relay is working.
The right rear and left rear each have a fuse powered by that relay. The fuses are in the box near the battery. If the fuses are hot, the problem may be in the wiring harness in the rear of the truck.
The license plate lamps are tied into each circuit, right and left.

Sounds like an open ground. Maybe make sure the wire that is on the neg terminal is connected to the body about 6 inches away. Also a mechanic is responsible for his work for 30days. Every mechanic all over the world operates under this law. It is a law

After checking the fuses I would replace the fuse for the tail lights just to make sure it wasn't a fuse issue and if that doesn't do it I would check the bulbs on both sides to make sure that the bulbs are good.

Almost sure it is a recall for a relay. Call the dealer, I had a 2001 VR6 with the same problem, and it was a simple, free recall.

If you have a 12 volt test lamp, try this: Turn on the rear defroster. Attach the clamp to a good ground point; the door latch hoop is good)...Now, touch the test lamp to the extreme left and extreme right sides of the grids, on the inside of the glass. If the light does not light in either place, you probably either have a bad defroster relay, or the wires coming to the rear grids is off. Please feel free to get back to me with the results of your test.

FUSE PROBLEM? (NO REAR LIGHTS)

First thing to do is check the fuses. Don't just look at them, pull them out and test them with a fuse tester available at most auto parts stores (often with several spare fuses, very handy) or you can use a volt/ohm meter which is also available at most auto parts stores. Fuses are the most likely culprit and until they are known to be good, I wouldn't worry about a bigger problem.
